Well done Aly - can't see them very well though. I've just started on a crocheted bunny rabbit - my first attempt at a toy. The pattern's easy enough, but it's a damn sight more fiddly than a blanket!

Is that for card cutting Tina? New world for me! Today I plan to make a runner for the bed in the new Gite. It looks too bland with plain white bedding. Daughter wants all the Gites to have white bedding and towels! I like colour! I know I have some yellow fat quarters in my stash so will do a patchwork runner. Might do a couple of cushions too as that looks good in the photos.

No I agree with you, Aly, I think you need a splash of colour. I like plain walls, carpet, curtains and bedding, with bright colour accents, such as one wall with a patterned paper, bold pictures, cushions or a throw. If everything was plain white I'd be afraid of using anything in case I made it dirty!
And Tina, I have no idea what die cutting is!

I too , hate plain White, love Colour, my favourite Colour is Orange, but, you can't use too much of that. Die cutting, is just cutting out Shapes with a Machine of sorts, there are so many different Sorts, but mine is just a small one, no Electric, just all done by Hand. You put your Die, which in my Case is a small Metal Plate, marked as a say, Sleigh, you place it between Rollers, with Card or Paper underneath, and roll it through. Hope that is not as clear as Mud ! But, cutting out Shapes, anyway. x

Ah understood! Have the fabric sorted, yellow gingham and yellow with big white spots. Have backed with a piece of unwanted pale yellow curtain. The whole thing will be edged with gingham. Just need to find some quilting wadding now!

Sounds lovely, Aly. Can you put on a photo when done?
Tina, thanks for the explanation.
I've not been in the mood for crocheting lately, dare say I'll carry on when the utility room is finished.

To explain a bit further Ladies, these Machines do not cut out Cards, you buy them in different Sizes in Packs of 50. I usually stick to three different Types, Large and tall, Square, and smaller, am no good at Sizes, but the Square Ones, the most Popular, are 144x144. Customers choose the Size they want, usually, the biggest Card for Weddings etc, Square for Baby Cards, and the smaller Cards for Thank You, or Sympathy. To make a Card, I will study what the Customer has told me, whether they want Flowers, special Colours, Names, usually everyone wants Names. Then I choose a backing Paper that goes on the Card first, have all my Boxes and Draws full of everything you can name, Pearls, Ribbon, cut out Shapes, Pictures. I keep special Boxes for everything, like one Box, will have everything to do with Weddings in, One with everything Baby, wish I could send Pictures, but don't know how to. better make a start, love T x
