How sweet - the chickens having their own curtains. Love it!
I need to get on with my sewing, but last week at the quilting group, one friend came and sat beside me 'to help', but she has been struggling with a really bad cough....guess who has a rotten cough now? Yep, me! Last night it kept me awake, so I'm feeling a bit lazy for doing any craft.

Oh no, hope it's not one of these coughs that lingers for ages, Val. Hope you can sleep.
It's starting to get cooler, so I'm hoping my crochet mojo will come back soon!

Three eggs in the boxes today! The chickens looked cute hiding behind their curtains!

That sounds lovely, Aly. I hope so, too, Sue. Funny thing I started a really thick scarf in a beautiful pale lilac, the yarn so soft, too. Then suddenly, can't be bothered to finish it. I've taken the bag into the tv room, but the bag stays unopened. Perhaps my crocheting mojo will come back, too.

They're lovely! We don't have any young children in our family.....nieces and nephews and their partners don't seem inclined to have kids as yet!

My friend and neighbour, Fran, brought back my quilt and the group house quilt that I didn't manage to finish before the exhibition. Just a few bits to sew down, then I can finally release it. The group quilt is a Linus quilt (I think I may have explained before), but basically Linus quilts are made for children who have suffered trauma/bereavement, and occasionally we send quilts jointly made by the group to donate to this charity. This time, we'll be sending four. After finishing that, I can get back to doing my own thing!!

Not sure if this will work: www.pinterest.fr/pin/286541595018127113/It is a picture of a quilt that I am making for a friend who has just had a daughter, Georgia - have I shown this before? ( ) Well, now I have prepped all 64 squares, ready for joining when I get home. The one in the picture is 6 x 6 squares (36) - I just kept making them and discovered I have 64, so 8 x 8 is what I have. I don't know how big the squares are in the picture, as I can't find any instructions for it. My squares are approximately 4.5" square. I have also tried to do a 'rainbow' of colours too. Wish me luck!

I've had a re-think on the quilt. Perhaps I need to make one that is more for a baby, so I have looked out all my fabric with pictures - Finding Nemo, and Beatrix Potter, etc, and some coordinating fabric to make squares depicting a single character, then join them up in some order, not sure yet though. The quilt squares from a few days ago will be a WIP for a while I think, .

Oh, Sue, if you feel like making a shawl of some sort, making two rectangles may be quite a simple and easy project, to sit and crochet in the car or watching tv, perhaps?

I got one, Val, black with silver threads running through it and lots of fringing (is that spelling right? It doesn't look right somehow, perhaps should be fringeing? Long dangly bits anyway ). Oh, and I can't crochet in the car, makes me feel travel sick.

Sounds a good idea, Sue.
I have a long-term friend whose sister is constantly knitting. She brought 10 blankets, and ten baby/toddler cardigans when she visited last time. Unfortunately the charity that I used to support went into liquidation (!), so now I have to think of somewhere to donate! (Currently they are sitting in my front room, waiting...!)
The last lot of blankets I gave to the dementia home where my Mother was looked after. The little cardigans last time were small enough to donate to the Mother & Baby Unit, but the cardigans now are bigger - I would say toddler-size.
The blankets she makes are beautiful, always a co-ordinated pattern to them, even though they are knitted squares, and with crochet picot edging.

Have a look at the gallery - particularly wood and lace - at this talented artist's website: www.agnesherczeg.com/They do say "patience is a virtue" - my goodness, the intricate work involved. Amazing creativity.
