Am now reading 'The Solace of Sin', by Catherine Cookson. Not as good as some of her Books, but not as violent, either.

To me, she is the 'Greatest', her Stories are so 'meaty', a bit violent though, but Life is violent at times. Have you read her Life Story ? she was a very bitter Woman. Think she must have had deep Psycological Problems .

Oh good, there's already a book thread, thank you Tina.
Having seen a film called The Bone Collector a few months ago, a thriller starring Denzel Washington and Angelina Jolie, which I really enjoyed, I got interested in the books the film was based on. Denzel Washington played a quadriplegic ex-police officer called Lincoln Rhyme, although he's paralysed he has a brilliant mind, Ms Jolie plays his sidekick. The author, Jeffery Deaver, has written a series of Lincoln Rhyme books, 13 I think so far, with a 14th due out next year. Well, I really like thrillers and murder mysteries, my favourite kinds of books, so I got the first one out of the library a few weeks back. Mr Deaver is an absolute master of suspense, there are so many twists and turns in the books, he really keeps you guessing until almost the last page....I'm on the 4th book now and with every one I keep thinking 'wow, I didn't see that coming!' as he springs yet another surprising twist in the book. I've now bought the first 12 books, I buy 2nd hand paperbacks in charity shops or from Amazon when I see them cheap, so have plenty of reading to keep me occupied for a while yet!

Buy most of my Books from Amazon, too Sue, but they must be the really cheap One's, no matter how much I wanted to read a Book, would not pay over the Postage for it. I do tend to like Family Saga's, and Women who make good, also early Settler Stories of Australia, and America. Hate Mills and Boon, and similar style. Love History.
