We had leftover pizza portion each for our lunch, and on our picnic with the family, we had sausage rolls (I cooked them this morning), and grandson's chocolate and raspberry torte, plus son's lemon cookies. Not so hungry by this evening, so we had baked beans on toast and topped with grated Cheddar.

Had salmon this evening, and trying to do something different, I cooked some honey-roasted carrots and with broccoli and mushrooms, but sadly OH was not a fan...

Can't win them all, Val! Tonight I'm using up the last of the roast pork in a chow mein style stirfry.

Turkey Shepherds Pie, with Sugarsnap Peas, and Carrots, Strawberries, and Cream, guess there are going to be plenty of them, as my Strawberries have started producing, I have three different Types, so they are ready at slightly different Times. Mara Du Bois, second Year of planting, are going great Guns at the Moment.

Last night, we had another two of the Waitrose CFC crumbed cod - golly they are big portions, with chips and mushy peas. We also had lovely Craster kippers for breakfast - our neighbours had bought them from Waitrose in Marlborough (Waitrose are the only supermarket locally to sell them), and oh, they were the best we've had in a long, long time. Thinking about sausages this evening. Maybe!

Yes, I chose the sausages, and I baked this traybake: www.olivemagazine.com/recipes/healthy/healthy-sausage-traybake/I added a few extra, like mushrooms, and plenty of Charlotte potatoes, added sweetcorn, and some pre-blanched broccoli, but didn't have any chickpeas ... ha ha, so really it was a little different to the recipe, but I did follow the instructions, just with different ingredients!!

Decided on a Pasta Dish, I don't eat it very often, but decided on something light, as had the Omelette for Lunch, even though it was only One Egg, and did not finish it. Have some nice Tomatoes, and Courgettes, just throw anything in that comes to Hand! Dessert, will be a Trifle.

Son, is going on Holiday for a Fortnight, to the Norfolk Broads, so today, he brought me over twelve Dinners, so I would not go Hungry while he was away! So am celebrating by having my fave, Cottage Pie, and Veg, not sure about Dessert, but have plenty to choose from.

What an amazing guy, your son is. How many sons would think about their Mum before going on holiday? Tina, I love cottage pie, too. I wouldn't mind, at all, if someone would cook me a few of 'em !

Have a very good Family, Val, but this Son, used to give me half the Money from his Milk Round, and all his working Days, made me an Allowance. He is now retired, but apart from my Daughter, does anything that needs doing in the House. Not that she can do much, as her new Job, means she has to travel. Have tried everywhere to get a Cleaner, with no Luck. Dinner today is Breaded Haddock, Mash, and Peas. Dessert Pannacotta.

They do sound a wonderful loving family, Tina, you're very lucky. It's sausages tonight, not sure how I'm going to cook them, but that's the main thing!

We had it hard Val, I was a single Mother, and we worked as a Unit, I involved them in everything. I would sit them down, and say, "what do we do?! and we still stick together.

I'm cooking stuffed veg for our main meal with individual fruits of the forest cheesecakes to follow. For lunch it's cheese, tomato and broccoli quiche with salad for son and I'll finish off yesterday's mushroom soup.
