Ukulele, reminds me of George Formby, and his Songs, 'Leaning on the Lamp Post', and 'When I'm cleaning Windows', you must start strumming again, Max. Hope you are able to do a bit of Shopping for your Bits and Bobs, Iris, it will give you a Break. Wrapping Birthday Presents, nearly all done, but the Bags I bought were just a smidgen too small, so had to send for bigger Ones, and they are not cheap. Fishmonger has been, so it is a Fishy Dinner. better get it started, bye the noo, Tina x

Evenin' all,
Max, when my brother died, it was 41 years ago, but for his son who has just died, and knowing that he must have spoken to his doctor about his own father dying so young, you'd think that there would've been some thoughts in checking - clearly not. Now another family is grieving.
My lovely little pooch has had her eye operation today and she is totally disorientated with the cone on her head, she keeps crying, and won't lay down - we've had to lay her down and keep talking to her before she would stay laying down - at least she managed half an hour of sleep, but she sits staring into space. Poor, poor thing.
Ooh, Iris, collecting your new car. How exciting!
Chris, have a great time away, and meeting up with your friends again.
Sometimes, Tina, a poached egg on toast just hits the spot, so enjoy your supper this evening.
Have a good evening everyone, x

Morning all, a Grey Day, with a Hint of Promise. Son came yesterday, with Emulsion to do the Kitchen, and says his Ladders will not fit in the Car, so he will have to borrow some. He is coming to wash the Walls with Sugar Soap, next Week, Day unknown, he has a Wife, and two teenage Girls, and as he is now retired, he is a Taxi Service for all of them, why catch a Bus, when Dad/Husband, can run them wherever they want to go. He is finding it hard, and misses his Work which he enjoyed, same Job, started with it and finished with it, connected to the Theatre . Do any of you remember Coogie Bear, with Rolf Harris, that was my Cousin, he worked with the Beatles on a lot of things, Remember going to a Show in Portsmouth, front Seats, to see the Beverly Sisters in their heyday. Free Tickets, of course. Still got to finish wrapping, well, not wrapping, but decorating my Presents, I think making them look pretty makes all the difference. Have a lot to do, but definitely no Baking, trying to clear out Jars, etc, with not much in them, whatever, am going to be busy. Hope you are all keeping well, and your OH will be home soon, Iris. be back later, love Tina x

It was a good journey down here yesterday, just a bit of a long way. The weather here is lovely, bright sunshine and a light breeze. Last night we ate in Carluccios looking out at the Spinnaker Building, lovely meal and chance to relax after the trip down. Anne is off retail therapying and I'm going to go looking at boats. Hope this finds you all well. Take care xx

Hi everyone, My poor little pooch is feeling very sorry for herself, and with good reason - she has had a tiny cyst removed from her eyelid. We've been told that the tissue of an eyelid in a dog is very strange, will not regrow so getting rid of the cyst while small has a better chance of a better result. She also had some other eye surgery, so of course she has to wear a cone (we call it a flowerpot!), and she is not working with it very well at the moment, and still trying to get used to it. She's not a happy bunny. I went to our quilting group this morning, there were about 15 of us, so lots of chatter and sewing. It was good! I started sewing on the little girl's quilt with some very small embellishments - flowers, and a teddy bear, and hearts, etc. Have a great time down south, Chris, it sounds like the weather will be kind to you! I have chopped up lots of citrus skins, and they are currently simmering in a pot waiting to become marmalade - that's a bit later! Iris, hope you're enjoying your new car. Also that OH is getting stronger and nearer to coming home. Max, has the ukulele been picked up yet - ha, we'll be badgering you now till you tell us you have got back to it! Have a good afternoon and evening, x

Evening all. A busy day again. I accompanied our son on a dog walk this morning. We came home in time to get lunch and then off to Truro to the hospital. Son dropped me off while he went shopping and then picked me up again. The traffic is horrendous still - a 1 hour visit takes 3 hours out of the day due to hold ups no matter which route we take.
OH is still very weak but his chest infection has cleared thank goodness - he just needs to complete the course of antibiotics. However, he is not eating and doesn't even like the taste of tea. Not like him at all. There is no sign of him being able to return home or even being transferred to a community hospital for rehab. It's going to be a long haul. Our son is staying until Thursday next then returning to his home to take his wife away for the weekend to celebrate their wedding anniversary. He's been doing lots of odd jobs for me (including clearing some of the ditch in next door's field) and chauffeuring me around. I've only driven my new car home from the dealership but I do love it. Much easier to get into the garage and much better all round vision. The controls are very basic but just what I need - I don't need all the bells and whistles with which larger, modern cars seems to be crammed.
Hope your little dog soon recovers from her surgery, Val.
Enjoy your short break, Chris.
You do put lots of thought and effort into the presentation of your gifts, Tina. You put me to shame!
Going to have another early night. In the morning son is taking me to look at a table which he thinks will be suitable to replace the 8 seater in the kitchen. OH will be using a Zimmer frame when he eventually comes home and a smaller table will give him more space to manoeuvre around the kitchen. Then son is going for a long walk with his dogs while I go to visit OH.
Will call back in at some stage. Bye for now.

Morning all, so glad your OH's Chest Infection has cleared up, Iris, upward, and Onward from now on.x Looks like a no bad Day today, so going to make a start on the Children's Xmas Cards, do love a Day when it is fairly Bright outside, and can sit near the Window, Crafting. Watched 'Strictly', last Night, and what a Show, it was so good, looking forward to next Week. My Friend's Birthday yesterday, so said I would treat her to a Meal of her choice, gave her the Money, thinking she would come back with a Chinese, was I surprised when she came back with a Mc Donald's Fillet o Fish, and two Banana Milkshakes. But enjoyed it, though did notice the Fish had shrunk to half the Size it used to be, same with everything, you are paying the same Money , for half the amount. Going to love and leave you, be back later, love Tina x

Hi everyone,
Not a lot going on here - tried to make some marmalade and it hasn't set, so I need to reboil it - always a pain to have to do that! OH is picking the last of the little tomatoes, red and green - they are marble sized, and there aren't many, but very tasty!
We have a Zoom later with the family - if daughter remembers (she has set it up, and last week she forgot..) hope she does remember this week.
Iris, hope all's well with OH, and you're enjoying your new car.
Tina, I know what you mean about the sunshine - makes such a difference, doesn't it.
Have a good rest of the day, x

Morning all, very wet Day, thinking of my Daughter, who has a twenty Minute Walk, after she gets off the Bus. Hope all is well with you lovely Lot, very quiet on here. Got a Family Member coming to clear out my big Cupboard today, it is the size of a Box Room, and keep my Chest Freezer, and Dryer, in there. It has Shelves that I put in, when I came here, and a Place where unwanted Presents, Ornaments etc, even unopened Games, like Ludo, Monopoly, and others, they need to go to a Charity Shop, in time for Xmas, and other Stuff, needs to go to the Dump, so as she has a Car, she can do it in a One off. Then, youngest Son, is coming to Sugar Soap the Kitchen Walls, hopefully not today! Going to make a few Scones, I never measure anything, so it is a quick bake, and nice with a Cuppa when we take a Break, of course, I will be sitting on my Stool supervising, as am neither use nor Ornament, but she suggested doing it, not me, she knows how much it is bugging me, and just need to get rid of so much Clutter. Better make a start, get dressed, and get the Scones underway. Hope you are all well, have a good Day, try to be back later. love Tina x

Morning folks. I did post last night but it's gone astray. Hey ho as you can imagine my head is not in the right place currently.
Can I borrow your friend, Tina? I've got plenty of cupboards that need sorting. When son has gone back I shall start on indoor jobs I've been putting off. He's working from here until Thursday. I've just been out and put fuel in his car for him but the nearest petrol station at the supermarket is limiting everyone to £30 worth and the queues are horrendous. I was going to get a can of petrol for my little car as well but everyone was directed to pay at the pump so I thought it unfair to keep others waiting. I'll refuel when I'm on the way back from the hospital. I shall only be doing local trips so don't need a full tank like son does to drive back to Cambridgeshire.
Going to do a bit of ironing before lunch then it will be my 3 hour round trip to visit OH.
Take care all.

Oh, Iris, I don't think I'd like to do that, our nearest major hospital is about half an hour away, but we have a sort of cottage hospital within six miles, so we're fortunate. Well done to keeping up the visiting - could your daughter go once to give you a break, like your son did?
Where are you, Max - hope you're okay?
Chris, hope you're enjoying your break.
Wow, Tina, you're always busy, and busy with visitors too - enjoy your warm scones, and getting all the help you need. Great stuff!
Have a lovely afternoon and evening, everyone, x

Good afternoon ladies from a very sunny Southampton. It was very wet & windy first thing but cleared by breakfast time. Went to the Spitfire Museum this morning then to Eling Tide Mill, which is one of only 2 tide mills in UK. Had lunch there and now having 40 winks. Hope everybody OK xx

Evening all. Wow, you’ve all been busy over the last few days. Iris, so glad you’re loving your new car - hopefully the joy of driving it will remove some of the pain of your hospital commute! 3 hours! What a pain. Hopefully us Muggles will disappear from Cornwall soon and leave you in peace and with a better commute. So glad your husband is slowly recovering but, gosh, it’s a long slow process isn’t it.
Tina and Val, the ukulele is covered in dust - probably 6” deep by now! I’m full of good intentions of picking it up but everything else gets in the way! I’m always full of good intentions of wrapping presents beautifully, Tina, but seem to lose the will pretty soon after starting. Your recipients must love the care and time you spend on them - they’re very lucky.
Chris, sounds as though your break has started off really well. Hopefully the sun will continue to shine for you.
Not much to report from me. Had a few very busy days but with the usual stuff. I loved Strictly too, Tina. It looks to be a great series again.
Have a lovely evening all. Take care.

Evening all, been a busy Day, and had a few nice surprises, opening Boxes not opened for Years, and Discovering Things I had forgotten about. Found a Longstitch Picture, complete with all the Wools, that I never got round to doing, and another of an Egyptian Girl, half finished, very pretty, still on the Frame, Silk Ribbon Work, don't know whether my Fingers will manage now, they are so twisted, but it is a big Needle, so going to have a try, not at the Moment, as a busy Week ahead, have so many Hobbies, but love them all. Desperate to start Xmas Crafting, but not getting a Minute. Second Son, came back from his Holiday on the Norfolk Broads, he really enjoyed it, but said it was a lot harder Work than he had anticipated. I was looking forward to some nice fresh Mackerel for my Tea, but eldest, did not get a Bite, so had to settle for Fish Fingers, and Chips. Yes, Max, 'Strictley', was Fab u lous ! The two Boys were a revelation, best Dance of the Night ! this looks to be shaping up to be the best Series ever, although the viewing Figures were very low, several reasons for that I should think, but you've got to move with the Times. What a Bummer having that long Drive, is Iris, you are bound to be exhausted when you get Home. Hope OH is improving, and you will have some good News soon. Got the usual two Friends coming tomorrow, they will have to leave earlier this time, they don't realize I am knocking on, one is only fifty, or will be in a couple of Days.Well, am going to have an early Night, have bought myself a Light that goes round my Neck, and a Bean Bag to rest my Book on, so it's all good. That's it for now. Sleep well, love Tina x

Tina, I have one of those lights that you wear around your neck - mine's called a Ledgie (cos it's LED, I guess ..?) It's great when working with dark yarn, or sewing small things - and when the sun has forgotten to shine!!
