Ian picked me another big Bowl of Raspberries, yesterday Evening, so they are sitting there, don't know whether to freeze them, or turn them into Jam. Hope to get out and plant my Cauliflowers, and sow some more Lettuce and Radish Seed, to keep my Supply going. If it should turn sunny, will try to do a bit of weeding.

Have you got Potatoes in Aly? Mine are not flowering yet, but wondering whether to put a Xmas Bag in. Lovely, to have new Tatties for Xmas, we had some from Son's Garden, last Year.

We've been having some lovely potatoes, and now lots of peas. Cucumbers and tomatoes will be ready in the next day or two, along with carrots. Salad leaves are also just about ready.
Strawberries have more or less finished, as have blackcurrants and the early raspberries....still have autumn fruiting ones to come. Blueberries are almost ready....that's if there's any left! Husband has netted them but the starlings are still poking their beaks through.
Should have a good crop of Fiesta eating apples and Conference pears this year.

It's lovely when you can pick so much from your Garden. Have put my Cauliflowers in, but not got round to the rest yet, just came in for a Rest and a Cuppa.

OH has removed the runner beans from the polytunnel (I've frozen some) as they had been badly affected by the extremes in temperature and some were rotting off. We have more coming on in the open garden. Our strawberries have finished and we will have to wait for the raspberries as they at Autumn fruiting. I've picked pounds of red and green gooseberries and frozen, along with loads of redcurrants. I've picked several large bowls of blackcurrants and the rest are gradually ripening. We are picking cabbage, tomatoes, cucumbers, spring onions, beetroot and lettuce. We have also been eating our own potatoes for a couple of weeks but don't grow a huge quantity. Luckily by growing earlies we have missed any blight this year. Our peas have been a disaster - mice and birds are to blame. The sweetcorn is thriving as are the maincrop onions, leeks and broadbeans. I even have the grand total of 7 plums on my young tree this year but not a sign of an apricot. I'm not sure that the latter tree will ever fruit as we always have gales/frost when it should be in flower.

Been a good enough Day, but that dratted Wind, I know you expect that at the Top of a Hill, so exposed here. Cut down all Strawberry Plants , and Runners, that will give them time to build up before Winter. Lopping off extra Leaves, found some quite advanced 'Tumbler' Tomatoes, always a Thrill, the first Fruit. Planted the last Cauliflowers, so apart from sowing Lettuce, and Radish, when needed, that is it. Carrots doing well. Garden tidied up, not by me, by SIL. so he had his Sunday Dinner, as promised. lol. Good Weather is forecast for a few Days, might be able to get some Weeding done Tomorrow.

Been out in Garden, most of the Morning, managed to get some of the Iris Leaves cut, but frightened I might end up in the Pond, so had to leave it. Going back out, once my Lunch has gone down, to try to do a bit of weeding, but that Wind, is something else !

OH picked all the blackcurrants and gooseberries, both red and green. The blackcurrants I mixed with some frozen ready-to-use plums, and Bramley apple, and finally a handful of red gooseberries to make a mixed fruit jam - 6 jars. The red gooseberries, I used a kilo to make gooseberry curd (3 jars) - a pretty pink, and, unfortunately, it is delicious straight from the spoon ... oh well !! All the red left have been made into a compote with some raspberries for the morning porridge. Delish! The green gooseberries are still to do - now washed and ready for the top'n'tailing, and that will be for jam (or maybe some green gooseberry curd? Not sure). Also made a batch of lemon curd for all the aficionados that I know. Busy time at the moment!

Yes indeed, Val, the busiest Time, if you grow your own. Been out and watered, and it was lovely, if you did not look at the mess I have made of the Pond, trying to hack, the Water Iris down, the Plant has just got too big for the small Pond, so think a new Liner, will have to be put in place, easier said than done, as there are Rockery Plants all along the Sides. Must get back out while everything is so wet, as want to give my Cucumbers, and other Greens a feed of Nitrogen. Want to make the most of Today, as it is 'back to normal', tomorrow.

Made a Mistake, Tomorrow looks like being another warm Day. Picked more Raspberries, and did a bit of weeding, but too hot.

Ordered in the Crocus Sale, 'Rozanne', Geranium, RHS Plant of the Decade, could not resist the Colour, and a Red Poppy, to replace the One that got drowned last Year. Forgot to tell my Friend, I will need two more Pots.
