After a very wet Morning, it has turned Hot, very, my Cucumbers and Tomatoes will like that. Was wondering whether to cut down the Raspberry Canes, but there is still Fruit on them, too far gone for Human Consumption, but the Birds can still have them, so will leave for another Week, but don't want to leave too long, would like the Canes for next Year to build up. Everything growing well.

Transplanted more Lettuce Seedlings, probably the last. Cut down Cucumbers, there is no point in keeping them growing, not likely to bulk up in this Weather. Will give the Soil a Break, before planting the Winter Onions. Lovely outside at the Moment, but have a Quiche to make.

Watered Pots, as it is very Dry. Tomatoes, are turning Yellow ! never grown 'Tumbler' before, just assumed they were Red. Another Week, and should have a picking, not bad for an Outside Tomato in the Weather we have had. The other two Plants, were 'Patio Princess', and they are no where near as far on. But have learnt by my Mistakes, and will definitely provide Cover next Year. Did a bit of Rose, and Tomato pruning, and that's that.

Moved the smaller water butt next to the polytunnel. Just need to fill it now. Also started clearing all the dead weeds. Lots of work to be done but no digging. This is happening much earlier this year. I also have raspberry canes to cut back which I will do soon. I would really like to move them into the fruit garden. My herb seeds have arrived so this coming week I want to get them planted.

We, too, have loads of tomatoes - a mix of cherry, beefsteak, plum, striped and "ordinary" plus yellow ones. We are supplying our daughter and the neighbours. I've already put 6 containers (take away size) of tomato sauce in the freezer and will make more. I made a huge pot of tomato soup today some of which I'll freeze down and the rest we will have for lunch tomorrow. I'm not going to make chutney this year as I still have some jars from last year in my store so not sure what we will do with the surplus. Guess we may be eating rather a lot of pasta dishes through the winter! We have also had a glut of cucumbers. These are given to anyone who will take one

Been out in Garden all Morning, and going back out, as there is dead heading to do, watered, but not fed everything. Got second Son, to move my Carrots, and Lettuce nearer to my Seat, make it easier for me to water them. Beans nearly ready, they were planted late, but will get some good Feeds from them , and my Sugar Snap Peas. Must make the use of a half decent Day. x

Am now eating my outside Tomatoes, 'Tumbler', lovely Flavour. Sugar Snap Peas, almost ready, and Beans, not far behind. Considering I planted them late, they have done remarkably well.

Picked what could be the last of the Outdoor Tomatoes, there are plenty still there, but think it will be Green Tomato Chutney Time, which suits me, as have not been able to make any the past two Years, and do love it. Have Twelve small Jars of Chutney made , thus far.
