I have sent for new Seed, because I want Bumper Crops, and was reminded that my Carrots, which were 'Early Nantes, did not do well last Year, they were in Tape Form, and thought it might have been that, now I think it was old Seed. Really do need to get out and see what is going on with One Tub of Strawberries, am pretty sure they have Vine Weevil, will take One out, if I am right, will mean, not enough for Strawberry Jam again this Year. My Strawberries, most of them are up my Wheelchair Ramp, and People pick them as they come to my Door. Am limited for sunny Space, as the House Shadow falls over a third of the Garden, still you can't begrudge someone a small illicit Pleasure, can you? Grrrrr. x

Well, it has been a cold two Weeks since I last wrote, so not much doing Outside, but Lettuce and Radish doing well, and as far as I can see, no Vine Weevil, but have lost a couple of Strawberry Plants, so sent for a Variety that I have not grown before, 'Tristan'. I am already growing 'Mara Du Bois', and Cambridge Favourite. Got two new Fuchsias as Easter Presents, 'Lambada', and 'Snowcap', have grown Snowcap, before, but not 'Lambada'. This Winter has been kind to my Fuchsias, as far as I can see, they have all survived. I decided to put out my Celery, put it in the Nursery Bed where it is sheltered by other bigger Plants.

Did a wee bit in the Garden today, got the Carrot Bed ready, put the last of the Vermiculite in, there should be enough, you do need your Soil free running for Carrots, or they fork, will be planting Chantenay, and Sweet Candle. Ordered four new Strawberry Plants to fill the gap, and what I got were Minute, never seen a Plant so small come through the Post, the Leaves were not even the size of my Thumbnail, so instead of potting, then potting into bigger Pots, put them in a small Planter, and gave them my Blessing, covered with a Plastic Lid, and hope for the best, might turn out to be the best Strawberries ever, or wither on the Vine, so to speak. Am away to Bed, this Sunshine, makes me so sleepy.

Been out most of the Afternoon, and despite dozing for a bit, did a bit of work, put in a nice lot of Spring Onions, I love them with anything and everything, and sent for some Welsh Onion Plants, could not get them anywhere, in the end, got them on EBAY, they were not cheap, and if I had not wanted them so badly , would never have paid the Postage, talk about having you over a Barrel. I sent for more Spring Onions, and Radishes, my Eldest, can't get enough of them. I thought my first Earlies were through, happily trundled over to the Bag, it was a Dandelion! Grrr. Gotta get my Dinner, all this dozing in the Sun, makes you hungry.

Got several Beds ready for planting, and the Raspberries have hada de Weeding, a good feed of Blood, Fish, and Bone, and more Topsoil. Going to have a look around for a few new Strawberries, these Babies, are not going to do anything this Year,if at all. Was not going to grow Onions this Year, but have ordered two different Varieties, One Red, not my usual Ones either, think it could be Stuttgart, can't resist, if there is a bit of Garden going spare, something is going in it.

So much planting to do, but apart from being very busy, it is really cold. Have two different Onion Sets to plant, and Courgettes, and Marrows, supposed to get warmer tomorrow.

We've had a couple of small pickings of radish from the garden. The forecast for the next couple of days is fairly good so I'm hoping to get on with planting and seed sowing.

Wow! your first Bite, Iris, it is always a thrill, but although I love Radish, they are difficult for me to eat, grow them mainly for eldest Son, who adores them. I was so surprised yesterday, to see that the Potatoes have come through, had given up on them, and bought more, different Variety, Maris Piper. Will have Bags somewhere in the Shed, it's not Bags I'm short of it's Garden Space. Awa to make my Dinner. love to all. Tina x

Don't let it bother you Iris.x more Rain, am so fed up of it, not the Rain, we need it, know that is silly, but so much to be done, and am so behind this Year, the Person who helps me most, has changed his Job, to Shift work, and is always sleeping.

Finally managed to get out this Afternoon, not the best of Days, but okay for a while. I picked my first Lettuce, so that is the start of free Lettuce, just paid for Seed, am now eating Lettuce, Radish, and Rhubarb, with the occasional Welsh Onion. Am surprised the Onions have done so well, have only lost One, that was the one Son, novice Sower, sowed upside down! The Plums were covered with Blossom, and the Apple Trees are too. My Baby Blackcurrent Bush, that I bought last year, has enough Fruit on it to make a couple of nice Mixed Apple and Blackcurrent Pies, always pays to feed your Plants well. Forgot to say, Potatoes, have had to be earthed up again. Finally Strawberries are coming on, they are mid Season, and seeded themselves into the Onion Patch. Bye the noo. love Tina x
