This being my first real Foray into the Garden, did not stay long, as although the Sun was warm there was a biting Wind from the North Sea. Welcome to the Scottish Summer, or almost Spring Season.

Was not going to bother with Potatoes this Year, but then I thought, I have 3 Potato Bags, complete with Compost sitting doing nothing, so seems silly not to use them, am not going to spend a Penny though, will give the Compost a good Shuggle, remove any Weeds, a small Feed of Fish, Blood, and Bone, a Topping of fresh Compost, and some Chitted Potatoes from my own Store, and hopefully, in a few Months I will have lovely new Potatoes for my Dinner, and they won't be any old Tattie, as I always buy Maris Piper.

Sorting out Seeds this Morning, and what I do just for a Giggle, is scoop the Seeds that have fallen out of the Packs, and as can't be bothered to sort them out, impossible , really, except with Bigger Seeds, I chuck them onto some spare Compost, instead of just throwing them away. Last Year, had lovely Purple Sweet Peas, my favourite Colour, with Radish, Lettuce, all sorts of Goodies, that were edible, or beautiful. Waste nothing is my Motto !

Told my lovely Helper, I now had the Blood, Fish, and Bone, for the Tatties, and plenty of Compost, so when he had a Minute, perhaps he could plant the Potatoes. I had saved him two nice cooked Chicken Legs, just a little Sweetener, maybe a Fruit Loaf could be on the Menu this Week.

This Morning is beautiful, so been out giving my Plants their Blood, Fish, and Bone, and new Compost. No Greenhouse this Year, so trying where to put the Cucumbers, decided , I can get two in, each side of my Chair, in biggish Pots. Two Plants usually provide enough Fruit for me all Summer, so as usual, will be One long One, and One small One.

Change of Plan, had a look at the Potatoes that I had, and they looked a bit past their best to me, so decided to send for first Earlies, and so ordered the Ones I had last Year, as they gave a good Crop, and were very tasty. Don't really mind doing that, as the returns were good. So all being well, should get them tomorrow. Also splashed out on ten Plugs of cut and come again Lettuce, as you can just take as many Leaves as you need, very useful when feeding One. Might need to buy new Herb Plants, but that's about all, as have loads of Seeds. Been busy Indoors today, but if it is fine as promised, will need to go out and Investigate what needs to come out, and what can be cut back Tomorrow.

Investigated the state of the Herbs, most of them have survived the Winter, and are doing well. Thought they Thyme, was a gonner, but there are small Green Leaves, on it, will take some Cuttings. The Mint is through, and the , Sage, is coming on great, they have come through the Winter very well, Tomorrow, will take some cuttings, One, can never have enough Plants. My Fuchsias, are similar, some have Green, some not, but they do look Dead, then surprise you. That is my Radish, Lettuce, and Spring Onion, if we have the Weather we are supposed to have this Week, should give them a good Start. They are in the Sun Trap, of the Garden.

Did not do much but sit in the Sun, today, with, and without my Friend, who went Shopping for me, Cheffie Son, is in England. She managed to get everything on my List, which is a first.

Sat and enjoyed the Sun, for most of the Time, but did do a bit of cutting back, and took some Herb Cuttings, also some Geraniums, they have never survived a Winter yet, Bonus, if they root. One of my Carers, who got the Garden Bug, so to speak, from me, is growing her own this Year, and says, she will give me some Plants, what goes around, comes around, is a true Saying. Off to make my Din, Din. x

The Seed Potatoes were not the Ones I ordered, but as they were Arran Pilot, does not matter, and they went in yesterday. Heard the Letterbox go about Ten o'clock, just as I was going through to Bed. It was my cut and come again Lettuce. Paid for six, but small Lettuce are hard to separate, and there are at least ten, all looking healthy. Took out one of my old Plastic Draws, just fine as Cloches, otherwise the dratted Pigeons will have them. If it stays fine, must do more pruning of Fuchsias.

I've mowed the lawn and also between OH's raised beds. It's lovely to see the garden semi tidy now. There's still lots of weeding to do but I can fit this in between other tasks.

Yes,it is lovely seeing the Garden come together after Winter Iris, although am less able this Year, have Plans to grow more. Four Bags of Tatties in, Lettuce and Radish in, and Rhubarb nearly ready for pulling. That first Rhubarb, is really gorgeous. I have got several sorts, Timperly, and Champagne, not sure now, so many Years since I planted them. Looks like we might get one last good Day to enjoy being Outside.

Was the most beautiful Day yesterday, and sat and read my two saved Gardening Magazines, then bestirred myself, to empty my Present Baskets, and transport the Plants in to Tubs, they will now put out new growth , and can enjoy them for ages. Lots of Offers in the Magazines, will treat myself to something, I love Dianthus, and Begonias, and Orange is my favourite Colour, I feel a spend coming on! Investigated the Rhubarb, and gave it a Feed, be able to have it with Custard. That is what is so lovely about Gardening, not only does it give you pleasure, you get Exercise, fresh Air, and freebie Grub, for my Initial Outlay, I bought two Rhubarb Crowns, and for the cost of a bit of Fertiliser, they have given me Fruit for Years, resulting, in Jam, Chutney, and Desserts. Better get on, got to get that Rhubarb sorted, lol.

Evening all. Like others, we started the day with overcast sky but since late morning we have had sunshine and it's been pleasantly warm. You've guessed - I've been out in the garden as much as I could. I've removed 4 wheelbarrow loads of weeds from the long border running the length of the lawn. As we have such a mild climate nothing stops growing through the winter, hence the mammoth job. I've liberally applied fish, blood and bone which the rain will wash into the soil. My shoulders are aching a bit now after all the digging and tugging so think I'll give the outside work a miss tomorrow. I need to do some batch cooking so will probably tackle that. Think I would feel quite awkward having a stranger coming into my home to clean for me, Chris. I know I'd be running around tidying up before a cleaner came I'm sure you'll get used to it, especially coming back to a clean home! Hope your friend's granddaughter soon recovers, Tina. The Covid numbers continue to rise here so my mask accompanies me whenever I go out. Good idea to split up your floral arrangements. The pots are usually overfilled with plants aren't they? I have a chap coming to look at OH's plough tomorrow evening. Fingers crossed it leaves with him! Unfortunately OH has now decided he doesn't want to sell the tractor. I'm going to choose my moment to try again to persuade him to sell it. Now is the right moment as vintage tractor rallies begin again soon. He's in denial and convinced he will be able to use the tractor again ("when I'm better") but there is no way he will be able to climb up onto it or get off again safely. It's difficult. Must go - grandson has just called in to deliver a birthday present for his girlfriend which he bought on my behalf.

Am debating whether to buy some new Seed, as usually use what I have, and some of it is not in the first flush, as I hate waste, but the Prices are so hiked up, going to have a look around, see if there are any reasonable Sellers out there.
