I keep thinking about getting a spiralizer as like the sound of the veg being used instead of things like pasta!

Why not, Aly, have thought about it, but would end up being just another Gadget in my Kitchen.

Very strange - I had a mammogram appt for tomorrow, and I received a note on Monday to say that it had been cancelled, and then gave me an appt in the middle of August - of course I'll be in France. So, I phoned them, and they gave me an appt for this morning, saying that tomorrow the machine is due to be serviced so they had to cancel all appts for tomorrow. However, I joined my friends for a sewing bee this afternoon, and one of them has a mammogram appt for tomorrow - at the same place! Work that out!!!! While on the subject, I have an annual review at the doctor's surgery, and for the last few years they have trained up the senior nurses to perform this task. In March, I duly went for the review. This morning I received a letter from the surgery to ask me to come in to the surgery for an annual review - but with the doctor - and in August!!! These are not really rants, it's just that I don't understand what the heck is going on...!

Very odd Val - sounds like the left hand doesn't know what the right hand's doing! I've had an odd situation recently also. Last week I had a text from my bank saying they've identified an issue with my debit card and were sending out a new one. Now, the exact same thing has happened several times (at least 3 or 4) in the past couple of years and it's such a blooming nuisance having to change all my card details on all the shopping websites I use. So, rather than just accept it as I have done in the past, this time I rang Customer Services to ask why it keeps happening and exactly what is this 'issue' that keeps recurring with my card? I also pointed out the inconvenience and said I'm getting very fed up with it, considering each new card is supposed to last several years before it's due for renewal. They made a point of saying that there's nothing wrong at all with my card or my bank account....they said it's a fraud protection thing - apparently, when they are advised by a retailer in my area that there's been a problem (with their machine or a possible fraud involving someone else), they send out new cards as a precaution (erm, really?!?!). Well, if that's the case, then why don't they say so, why text me saying there's an issue with MY card? They also said I don't have to use the new card, I can just carry on using my original one!!! Why the bloody hell haven't they told me that before? So here I am continuing to use my original card....and then I get another text from my bank this afternoon saying they've noticed I'm not using the new card and can I please phone them if I haven't received it?! Oh for goodness sake!!!

Morning And breathe! There are so many annoying things just now with no valid reason as to why they happen! Bit like my carte vitale issue! Arrived after an easy journey although the boat was very crowded. Don't think I will use the fast one again. We are going back on the big one Portsmouth to Caen. Bits and bobs today then out for the corvette club this evening. A chance to catch up with lots of old friends. It is going to be a jam packed week!

Morning, nice sunny one, with a possible shower forecast for lunchtime. Enjoy your week, Aly, sounds like you're going to have a fun one.
I've got a bit of sewing/mending to do this morning (I absolutely loathe sewing, so tend to put it off), and will catch up on a few admin/banking things later. Got a menu plan and shopping list to do also. Steve will be working in the garden...must remind him to dig up some spuds and pick some peas for dinner later. Feel like having a day out tomorrow (forecast very good) so will have a look at the map for somewhere nice to go and will pack a picnic.
Have a nice day all.

Morning all, I really think we need a Rant, as it seems to me, there is ranting going on, and we all need to let off Steam,. now and again. Waiting for the Doctor, my Carer said yesterday, " what are those Blue Marks on the back of your Legs?" had a look, seems like Bruising of some sort so have to have him/her in to have a look, it is getting harder and harder to get up on my Legs, but am grateful that I can still manage it. The Weather seems set Fair, so will be outside most of the Day, though really need to bake something for the Weekend. Bid for, and won, a Year's worth twelve Books, of Home and Freezer Digest, really loved that Magazine, some cracking Recipes in them, so looking forward so much to receiving them. Have a good Day all. Tina x

Morning, another bright sunny one, if a bit windy. Yes, it's lovely to have a forum with friends back again.
We're going out for the day, taking doggy and a picnic to Porlock Weir, a lovely little hamlet with a harbour, there's now a thriving oyster farm in operation there too - not that I'll be having any! Never tried them, I just don't fancy it.
Have a nice day all.

Morning all, could not get on this Morning, but it is okay now. Very Dull here Today, not really conducive to sitting in the Garden, as there is a keen Wind, blowing. No, never fancied Oysters, myself, they must be still alive when you eat them, yuk! Am very Conservative with Food, because that is how I was brought up. And because Veggies were always a main Constituent of our Diet, I like a lot of them, and very little Meat, and Fish. Any way better get on, Daughter coming up later to 'tidy up', how I hate being 'tidied up' told her the Place was tidier than it had been for Years, so see if I can put her off. bbl, have a nice Day out, Sue x

Have you been tidied up now Tina? Well, we went to Porlock, it was sunny and warm but incredibly windy, so much so that we decided against an open air picnic as the food would have blown off the plates! So we had to eat it in the car instead, unfortunately, but at least we had a nice view of the sea. Steve had a phone call whilst we were there - his dentist (he had an appointment for late afternoon) asking if he could come in an hour earlier, he said ok so we cut our trip short and came home earlier than expected. Now we're home, there was a message on the answerphone from the dentist saying they've unfortunately had to cancel the appointment altogether for today, and can he please ring to rearrange it for next week. Huh. Oh well, we have a free afternoon now! Pity the dentists couldn't have sorted themselves out earlier, we'd have spent the whole day out then.

What a mess up of the Day for you, Sue, why can't People get Things right, it seems to be a Sign of the Times, I think People don't care about doing a good Job now. I have managed to escape the dreaded 'tidy up', because, it really is tidier than usual, and Daughter was puggled after Shopping, anyway. But SIL picked more Raspberries, will have to make Jam soon. Nothing on the Television, the Programmes are Rubbish, and am sick of Tennis. Think it will be another early Night. Am going to watch, 'Who do you think you are', it's the Revel Horwood Guy. Nighty , night. x

Morning all, bit dull today, sun coming out from behind the clouds occasionally. Woke up about 04.15 and couldn't get back to sleep, so got up and read the papers online. Dog came and climbed up on the sofa and promptly went back to sleep - teenagers! I definitely sleep longer in the winter....my body clock seems to be more governed by daylight hours the older I get. Not up to much today, just done the necessary housework this morning whilst husband plays in his shed, going to do a top up shop after lunch, then back home to make a pie for dinner. Will probably take Betty over the Marshes - must get out for a walk or I'll be kipping in the armchair otherwise!

Raining, here Sue, and in for the Day. Ithought it was Sunday Today, so took a Chicken out of the Freezer, last Night! It will have to stay in the Fridge, as must knuckle down to Orders. Want to make some Pastry first, not had that for yonks, feel like a Corned Beef Plate Pie, less fiddly than Pasties for me. And I have a new Gadget, Sue, sort of, a Crock Pot that you can Saute on the Stove with, no need to do everything in a Pan, and transfer it, and another plus, is, it is very Light, which is also a big help to me. Daughter, had another try, early this Morning, which is not a good Time, as am Mrs Grumpy, she has had two of my Great Grandchildren overnight, and was going to bring the youngest with her ! He is into all my Craft Stuff, not likely, she says, but do you need polishing, er, no, I can live with Dust, have learned to love it, let it lie undisturbed, you can draw lovely Pictures in it! Am going, have a good Day all. Tina x

Morning all! well, that's a Turnip for the Books, the Forum back on, and nobody told us. Not a very nice way to go on, and not sure to be honest, that I want to go back, as nothing has changed, and we were struggling, before. This Forum, is in it's Infancy, and it will grow, given Time. And I will always be grateful to Aly, for setting it up. Nothing much to add, a Roast Dinner to cook, and got to make Chutney, as have about two Pounds of Tomatoes going soft. Be back later. Have a good Day all.
