Morning There was a mighty thunderstorm rolling around last night but always in the distance. It is still raining now. P has Physio this morning and he says his arm is not right. He has been very careful with it since the accident but today has pain in certain positions. I have told him to get the opinion of the Physio and take it from there. It is all a bit worrying. Everything is in place for us to go to the U.K. On Wednesday for a week. I suspect we may be going for a scan at some point today. Lots of things to organize ready for our trip but at least it is a bit cooler today.

Good to be back and catching up with old virtual friends. Grey here this morning but not raining so a useful day. Have promised to weed our neighbours' gravel drive as they are unable to do so at the moment so will make a start on that. It may take more than a day to finish though! OH is going to finish off burning garden rubbish before we have rain tomorrow. He will retire to the shed tomorrow to continue with renovations on his vintage tractor. He's determined to do as much as possible whilst he can see well enough. His sight is still deteriorating but thankfully his heart problems are OK at the moment.

Morning all, raining here, what else? Not good about P's Arm, Aly, hope is something and nothing as they say. x Lovely to hear from you again, Iris, and to hear OH is able to do the Things he wants to Terrible Disaster yesterday, decided to try and make Jam in the Microwave, so followed Directions, and put Fruit and Sugar in my two Pint Jug. Sat and watched, but was not quick enough, it came over the Top of the Jug out through the Door, like a River of Blood, was I in a Mess, when I had finished cleaning it all up. Was thinking we should build up an Archive that People can access when they want different Things, like One for Vegetarian Recipes. One for Meat Dishes, then Fish, etc, what do you Think Aly? My Legs are bad Today, but want to sort out my Spices, have so many of them, then want to sort Dishes and Pans, do not need all of them. The Pollen Count is so high, my Eyes are running, have to keep wiping them. Better get a move on, have a good Day all. Tina x

Morning Shopping this morning although not much needed as going away tomorrow. Dogs go to the kennels this afternoon. They are always excited when we get there due to the other dogs and the prospect of play time. They have a section of their own that opens into a communal yard. It means them sleeping in a dog bed and not on the sofa but they have their blankets which I do not wash before hand and a couple of toys. I will ask for Bruno to be bathed this time as they have a full poodle parlour. With washing and ironing and packing that will mostly take up our day. I have down loaded a new app that has a database of companies that still do animal testing. Sadly there are still loads. There is a facility to scan a barcode and it either says not found and you add it, they then find which company it is attached to and put it on the database as involved in animal testing or not, or it comes up with the data regarding them. A lot of the companies I have abandoned anyway but I still have a lot to do. Some that leapt out at me were Dove and Johnson and Johnson. Have a good day all whatever you are doing.

Morning, will be an inside day as lots of rain forecast, I might actually get to do some crochet this afternoon after the housework stuff is done this morning. Got a pile of accumulated post and paperwork to sort out too.
Betty loves going to the grooming parlour, and they love having her....when we went to collect her last week there was no one in reception, but there were lots of giggles coming from the grooming room. Then one of the groomers popped her head over the bottom half of the stable door and said "oh hello....we were just playing with her!". Betty smells so gorgeous and her fur is so soft when she comes out. They tied a bandana around her neck the last time....we soon got rid of that!

Morning all, bet Betty does enjoy the pampering, Sue, should do something similar for old wearybones like me. Weather, lousy again, beyond feeling sick about it, plenty of Green but no Flowers. Got my Friend coming Today, have not seen her for five Weeks, as she has been unable to drive, having had an Abcess on her Foot. Making Scones, soured the Milk early on, so can't get out of it. Daughter, sent up Blackcurrent Jam, made from her own Fruit, first attempt, it is very good, so going to whip up some Double Cream, to go with the Scones. Also expecting Groceries from Sainsbury's, so going to be busy. Have a good Day all. Tina x

Hello old friends and new! This feels very familiar and cosy - well done Aly. I can't promise to drop in daily but I will look in from time to time and see what's happening. It's empt'ing down with rain here in Cornwall so those of you up country will get it dreckly. The garden really needs it but I forsee several two foot long courgettes in my immediate future. Do we have a section for courgette recipes?!!!

Lol yes we ought to have one specially for the dreaded courgette glut, Ruthie!
Lovely to hear from you, I've been enjoying the pictures of your Mum's adventures on your FB page - she's a marvel isn't she? And so pretty too. Your rain hasn't reached us yet, but it won't be long before it does I reckon....and yes we do need it (and it will save Steve the job of the constant watering....well, at least for a day!).
Hope you and yours are well.

Lovely to hear from you, Ruth, yes, it does feel cosy, Thanks to Aly.x Hoping more Members will pop back in . Just read what you said on Facebook, Sue, and like you, am vexed that such a wonderful Resource can just be lost . Long before I came on the Forum, I nipped back and forth when Iwanted to know anything, or needed a Recipe, just seems such a shame, but nil desperadum, it might happen yet! Well, my Friend, waited till nearly Twelve o'clock, before letting me know she was not able to come. bit thoughtless, was hoping she would bring me a Book, as am out of anything to read. Better get a move on, Groceries have come, and they will not put themselves away. bbl. Tina x

Morning all, bit cloudy and dull after all the rain yesterday but is set to brighten up soon apparently. Off to Weston super Mare this morning to have another look for the flip flops I didn't get last week, and to pick up a click and collect order of a pair of cropped jeans. Will have a browse through the summer sales to see if there is anything I really want at a knock down price (I doubt it! Sales quite often seem to consist of cheap rubbishy stuff brought in specially for the sales). Betty has a vet appointment this afternoon, we think she's got the ear infection again (the vet did say she will most likely be prone to them, it's to do with her breed).
I did do a bit of crocheting yesterday as it was much cooler and fresher with all the rain. I'd started making a throw (a gift for someone) consisting of 4 large sunflower squares in the centre with a wide border....the pattern though was a bit complicated and I wasn't happy with the result either, it just didn't look right. So yesterday I googled and found an easier pattern which I am much happier with. I'll post a pic in the Craft section in due course.
Have a good day all.

Morning Lovely to hear from you all. Sadly still nothing about our original forum. I used to be able to find the information but not use the forum, now the whole thing no longer seems to exist. Few more bits to sort out this morning then we are off just after lunch! Want to get to the port early as Brittany Ferries have extra security checks which will take longer. I do not think the boat will be busy though. After much thought I am taking my socks with me but have also put in the mandala kit to crochet. I am stuck with the sock due to needing some quiet time to do the Kitchener stitch that does the toe section. I hope to have started the second sock before getting home. Plenty of time on the boat! Chick now has wing feathers and they are pale ginger. It is bouncing around happily! It can often be seen sitting on mums back while she scratches about! Have the usual list of things to get for us and others when in the UK. Seems too quiet here without the dogs! I have the sofa to myself!

Hi all. I'm being very lazy this morning, feeling like I need a rest after two weeks with my mum! Yes, Sue, she is a marvel at 93. I have something to live up to. The Mevagissey ferry steps worried me but not her! I made lovely fluffy courgette muffins yesterday but there is too much sugar in the recipe for me. It creates inflammation and makes my joints bad. I've only recently discovered the trick of squeezing out the liquid from the grated courgette - how did I not know that before? I gave away three huge courgettes, still have about ten all at least a foot long and haven't dared look yet today. I'm planning on spiralizing one with vegan cheeze sauce for my evening meal, dehydrating some as crisps, and making ginger and marrow jam one day, which I then have to severely ration myself on. Meanwhile I'll be looking for a more savoury gluten-free courgette loaf. Other ideas welcome!
