It just goes on you have been battling with this so long. How about your local government minister? Not up with how things things are done in England now but maybe a trip to citizens advice would be advantageous.

I'm waiting for our local councillor to get back to me but if I don't get any success I shall go to our MP. I've got daughter primed to keep an eye on the patio situation while we are away.

Oh Iris, hope it all goes well, but in the meantime, just enjoy your holiday, and hope you're not too affected by Storm Francis. Please drive carefully. <3

Not been a rant for a while, but am fuming, just answered a loud knock on the Door, suspecting it was Amazon, shouted "leave it at the Door please! more talking I could not make out, so opened the Door, I know I should not have, Man standing there, Package in Hand, wanted my Age, I told him, no, he could not give me the package, as it was Age related, thought to myself, am not ordering Booze, why does he want my Age, no idea where my Birth Certificate was, and in too much pain standing at the Door, so just told him to send it back, then went to the Computer to see what I had sent back, a Set of Gardening Implements! I still cannot believe it !

Oh Tina, I feel for you. What a shame. He could've explained why he wanted your age. However if the reason was because they were tools, I really don't think he needed to ask. The only reason is they can't be sold to underage. I'd be fuming too. <3

Don't think he could explain Val, he did not speak very good English.

That's very common now. I had a guy come to pick up something, but OH had forgotten to tell me, so getting the info from the guy was difficult. As long as the job goes to plan, they don't have to speak much, though luckily OH came to the rescue with the item to be collected.

Where to start One word BREXIT As you know I knit things for my English grandchildren who love to receive their personal parcels. It will have to stop. Packed up the latest jacket for second grandson and took it to the post office. It now needs custom forms. Had a little dolly tea set which I made a tablecloth for and put into a pretty box for granddaughter. So two parcels to England. Ended up putting them in one box which was a bit cheaper. Seven custom forms printed out and signed. One to be stuck on the parcel in a clear plastic something so that it can be seen. Who knows where the rest go the post office will deal with that. It will cost €21 which is outrageous. A couple of minor gifts for my grandchildren. My daughter in law has loved having hand knitted things for the children but I cannot go through that process every time I want to send them something.

Having investigated it seems to reduce the cost I will have to put the knitted things in a big envelope. Cannot avoid the custom forms though.

As you know, my sewing machine has been needing attention, and, having chatted to Janome, it was all arranged for DPD to collect the ready-boxed-up machine to be transported to Stockport in Cheshire, for repair/service - not sure what's needed. On Sunday evening, I packed it up all ready for collection. I received a text to say the collection would be between 2pm and 3pm yesterday. Despite OH sitting in his study which is next to the front door at the front of the house, he saw no-one and the dog didn't bark (any caller gets barked at!), it was a no-show. Then I saw on a text that the driver had reported "Was advised that the parcel was not ready for collection!". What? I phoned Janome to inform them, and I was told that normally a driver would photograph the door of the house with the parcel - the picture area was blank. It has been re-scheduled for today. Let's hope he comes.

I have a rant, It is the sound Or the up and down volume when trying to hear whats being said, The TV people decide to give a bit of news from outside of a service area on the motorway with traffic roaring past, "How are we supposed to hear what the hell is being said?
And then we have the adds coming on and the sound shoots up so's you have to turn it down and back up when the adds have finished,
Then comes the people who insist on covering their mouth when talking and you can not make a word out they're saying, "muffle muffle"
Goggle box thinks we all enjoy the "F" word repeated time after time.
Oh am i pleased i learnt to read, At least books can be relaxing way of spending your spare time.

Yesterday I ordered a pair of sheepskin bootee slippers online for OH as his feet and ankles are permanently cold. They are manufactured in Newquay, 5 miles away from here so I rang and confirmed the correct size and colour was in stock and that I would collect them today. I was assured this would be fine. I even emailed their Customer Services to confirm I would collect them. I did not want them posted. The factory is in an industrial complex near Morrison's so I could pop in get a few bits, collect the slippers and come home quickly. When I arrived at the manufacturing premises I found that there was no longer a shop within. I was furious. I returned home to Google their whereabouts and found that their shop is now 3 miles in the opposite direction on another industrial estate. After the District Nurse had called in, I'd walked daughter's dog and we had had lunch I rang again to ensure I could collect the slippers only to be told that they had been handed over to Royal Mail for despatch and would be delivered in 3 to 5 working days. Grr - how can an upmarket company have such bad customer service?
