Very sorry to hear about your accident, Jan, am disabled myself, and know how hard it is, and was Hospitalized with a fall, a couple of Months ago, and am terrified of falling again. Really want to make Bread, and Marmalade, tomorrow, see how I feel, fed up eating what passes for Bread now. If it is fine tomorrow, the Boys, will put my Bird Station up, can't wait. Well Girls, am away to my Bedroom, to read a bit more about Life at the Chateau, Nighty, Night! x

Evening everyone, sorry, never seem to get round to login on in the morning. Been a milder day here and even quite sunny late morning and got out in the garden for a short while. Not really done much else today, have just started another jigsaw, second of the Christmas period, first one was a present from a friend, a really pretty picture with plenty of colour, it will now go back to her to do, then on to her day, then back to a friend of mine. Contemplation going to bed, nothing much on the TV, just watched the special Taskmaster episode, but it had Shirley Ballas on it ( from strictly) and I can’t bear the woman, so it spoiled it for me. Since the November lockdown I have got back in to reading before I go to sleep and have decided to re-read all my Wilbur Smith books, but in chronological order rather than publishing order. My problem with books is once I start, I find it hard to put them down and I’m still awake at 2 am reading 😕

Hi ladies, late again!
So, we're now in 2021 - considering we were locked down some of the time, I still feel that last year has gone very quickly. It must be age!! I start on my new diary tonight - I remember starting last year's and it really doesn't seem that long ago.
We too had a frost this morning, and had a little sprinkling of snow, only lasting about 5 minutes!
Tina, I hope you will get your new book very soon. Also that you had a good meal from your daughter.
Jan, what an awful thing to go through. I'm presuming you'll get some compensation from Morrison's? This year was not the year to find yourself in a hospital either. What a worry for you and M. I guess he was having to cope with your plot on his own, as there's no way you could do anything with that injury? I do hope you'll be feeling better very, very soon.
Iris, sounds like you had a a fun Zoom! What do you fancy knitting? I must admit I had an email from a yarn company today (the one in The Netherlands), and they have a massive sale on, and I earmarked some yarn, but I really couldn't justify yet more yarn. Yarn and fabrics have a habit of being a magnet to me. I also had the email from Lakeland with their sale. I really shouldn't subscribe to these websites... :-) :-)
Good luck tomorrow, Aly, with your move. It's nearly Friday now, well, another twenty minutes. Hope it goes smoothly for you.
Sleep well, ladies, x

Morning Lasses, Snow, everywhere you look, but it is pretty with the Blue Sky, and the Houses look like a Xmas Scene, and they are far enough away to be appealing. Am going to continue clearing out my Draws, so I have room for some new Stash, have asked a Friend, whom I taught to make Cards, if she wants anything, so will give it her to sift through, we need Money for a Lady, that buys, or maybe gets made, sort of Carts for Doggies whose back Legs are gone, that happened to my poor old Boy! You all know how much I like a Project, and if it is to do with Animals, I'm right up there. So Today, will be another clearing out Day, if I find any bits and Pieces I think you could use Val, will Earmark them for you. Do not have to make a Dinner, can choose from Chicken Casserole, Fish Pie, Chicken Pot Pie, Chilli, Mushroom Fricasse, can't spell it, Cheese and Potato Pasties, whatever takes my fancy, although I have a Recipe I want to try myself, it is a Sausage One, the only Sausage I will eat, is a Marks and Spencer Chipolata. It is very pleasant sitting at my Workspace near the Window, as it gets the Sun from Morning to Night, and that will be me for most of the Day, and hope to clear a Couple of Draws at least, better make a start, though can't really do much until Carer comes. Be back later, have a fan dabby dozy Day! Hope your Weather is as lovely as mine.x Tina

Morning ladies,
Thank you Tina, again, for thinking of me in your spring cleaning (!) of your stash - not quite spring, I know, but somehow the lovely sunshine gives you a lift and makes you think of springtime, doesn't it! :-) What a choice of meals, Tina - we're having the second of my shepherd's pies - I made them on Thursday, as it isn't often that we have lamb, and I confess that it was rather special, so I'm glad I made enough for a second one. At the moment, I am also cooking up some marmalade - not with Seville oranges - I'm sure they'll be in the shops soon - but with oranges and clementines that have been languishing in the fruit bowl. My cranberries are soaking in Cognac, ready to be added to the marmalade. Essentially, it is my Christmas marmalade. :-)
Like you Tina, my workroom faces the sunshine, so I'm itching to get into it and start doing something productive. Sewing (quilting) and crocheting are my two major crafts, knitting comes next, but I keep being sidetracked by websites that tell me about their January sales, and last night I was so tempted by some lovely yarn.
I've had a message from Aly - they have moved. I hope everything will be looking up for them now, after all the hassles they've been through. Unfortunately they have no internet, and Orange have promised they will have by 12th January. Let's hope they keep to their word.
Hope Iris and Jan are okay, so have a nice day, x

My problem with books is once I start, I find it hard to put them down and I’m still awake at 2 am reading 😕 Hi Jan, I have been the same - unfortunately the idea of reading to get myself tired enough to sleep, doesn't seem to be working. The other night it was 03.30, yet for another hour and a half, I could not comfortable enough to actually get to sleep. Of course come morning all I want to do is sleep. A topsy-turvy world in my situation!! Then, of course, feeling shattered all day long. Sigh! Have a good day, x

Tina, I hope you will get your new book very soon.
Ah, I see Tina, that you now have the book - I hope you enjoy it like I did - I finished it far too quickly, and was quite sorry when it was finished. It'd be really good if they continued to document each year, but maybe because they were getting married at the end it was a rather special year to them. Enjoy it! x

Afternoon ladies. The day started off quite well here - no frost and the sun was out - but now it's raining yet again. Much too wet to do anything in the garden here but the weeds are taking over. Won't know where to start when the Spring comes! Hey ho. I've made a brief foray to the supermarket this morning and filled up the car with fuel. Can't get a delivery slot so needs must. So many empty shelves and gaps where other products should be. I've stocked up on frozen veg as daughter is due to go back to work on Monday and I can't expect her to keep doing my shopping. At least Morrisons was not too busy and most people were observing the distancing rules.
Shan't do much this afternoon as am feeling a little under the weather. I just feel lethargic and nauseous - too much rich food over the festive season methinks. I'm just going to get a home made ready meals out of the freezer for OH and reheat for tonight. If I feel hungry then I'll have one too; if not I'll have some crackers or toast. Now I'm just going to lounge and read the paper and do the crossword.
Stay safe and warm.

Good evening once again, quiet day here today, we are in tier three so not completely locked down, so before we are, I was bad and went out and bought two more jigsaws🧩 and some more wool 🧶. I have recently done two stash buster blanket, wraps, sofa cover type things. One I made with tons of leftover eyelash type wool, came out quite good, a bit stretchy due to large needles and eyelash wool, but it’s nice and light and really warm. I then sold the rest of the eyelash wool on eBay and then started a crochet blanket thingy with all my double knit wool. Most of the was done while I’ve been laid up. Started a new one tonight, this will be a another crochet one, the last one was a sampler type thing where I tried out a number of new stitches, not sure what this one will be yet.
Sorry to hear about your lack of sleep Val, I am bit of a night owl and I do have to make myself close my book and get to sleep, but still being awake at 3.30 am beats me hands down. Do you still work Val?
we had quite heavy snow for a short while this morning, it did settle a bit, it curtailed my daily walk as I just can’t risk it, which is why I ended up going in to Selby. I had to take it real slow, wear my walking boots and use my crutch, but at least it means I got some fresh air.
will update you another time about Morrison’s, they have been downright rude to me about the whole incident and it’s now all in the hands of solicitors..their choice, not mine.
last day of Christmas break tomorrow, then back to work Monday 😕

Morning Girls, different Story weatherwise Today, Rain, and melting Snow. Needless to say, never got to the end of my clearing out, so got that to finish today. I have had the Book , a couple of Days, Val, and sorry to say, found it quite boring, and several things stuck in my Throat, I thought it rather strange that he referred to James, as my 'big Boy' instead of 'my eldest Son'. and he mentioned bringing her fresh Eggs from the Farm, so must have been living with his other Family at the time. But having said that, they seem very well suited, and Life happens! Today, will not be as nice, to sit by the Window, but still must get the rest of the clearing done, and always being distracted by something you have not seen for years, that takes your fancy. Jan, don't take any s--t from Morrisons, they owe you, big Time. So annoying I can't do much until I get my Socks and Shoes on, can wriggle my Padders on, but the time it takes wriggling them about on a good Day, from Toe to Toe, is a blooming nuisence, so I wait for Madders, or Wend, my two usual Carers, and very good they are. Well, the usual, better get on, be back later. Have a good Day, love Tina x

Am back later, as promised, but not always kept! Cheffie Son came over, and made my Dinner, so only got to Microwave it. My Asthma is bad today, so must sit, and do very little, which is not something I like doing. My DIL has had to go down to Cumbria, she is terrified of being stopped by the Police, but has to help her Daughter, who has broken her Foot, and is strapped to the Knee, with a Baby, and five year old, to look after. My 16 Year old Grandson, put a Notice on his Bedroom Door, saying, "DO NOT ENTER, STREAMING" so my Daughter, put a Notice on her Bedroom Door, saying, DO NOT ENTER STEAMING! DO NOT ASK FOR MONEY, SANDWICHES, OR THE LAST BOTTLE OF BEER IN THE FRIDGE! that will sort the little Blighter out, though he is not little, he is six ft 4

Afternoon ladies. Well we have been lucky today - the sun has been out all day but not lifting the cold of the strong north westerly wind unfortunately. One of those days when it's good to look out but not necessarily be out. However, it has meant that I've dried washing outside for the first time for many weeks and the line didn't break Hope you've got your sorting in hand now, Tina. Take care - I know you don't like sitting still but you have to listen to your asthma. I think I'm ready for the workmen to arrive in the morning. Today I've moved all ornaments and mirrors that might get knocked off shelves and walls when the old immersion tank is removed and the humongous new tank and associated gizmos is taken up a narrow staircase. Will have to be up early in the morning as daughter is driving our car to work to help top up the battery. The stop start isn't functioning at the moment so obviously the battery is low. Just driving to the shops isn't enough but all I can do at the moment. It's our doctor granddaughter's birthday today. She asked for houseplants for a present but ones which her cats won't destroy. They are enormous Maine Coons - beautiful to look at but destructive. I Googled and found some cat proof plants and found them in Morrisons fortunately when I went shopping the other day. Saved a visit to the Garden Centre. I made her a vegan lemon birthday cake this morning and she came to pick the gifts up not long after it came out of the oven. Hope it's OK. It's so strange to have to put things outside the door and stand inside to chat whilst she was outside. Better than nothing but she's aware that she could be carrying Covid and lots of other bugs after working in the hospital so won't come near us for fear of passing them on. I have to take OH for his pacemaker check at our local hospital on Thursday so that will be fun. I think I will have to wait in the car so hope it's not too cold. The tests usually take about 15-20 minutes and we have been told not to arrive more than 5 minutes before the due time. The car park is tiny so parking may be difficult and there's nowhere else close by so I may end up driving around town. We'll see. Looking forward to David Attenborough's programme tonight. I have great admiration for him and his work to bring important issues to the forefront. Enjoy the rest of your day.

Evening all. Just finished Tea, microwaved and oven reheated roast beef dinner and it was delicious, always seems better when I’ve not had to make it from beginning to end. I sliced the beef and put it in a dish with the gravy poured over then covered it and warmed it gently in the oven with the left over roasties and cauliflower cheese.
we had the leek and potato soup for lunch which I made yesterday and hopefully there’s enough there for lunch for me for ac pulled of days.
anyway all gone, well not quite but Mike will finish the rest tomorrow for lunch. I’m just sitting down to watch an episode of Endeavour on ITV3 as his lordship is monopolising Sky so he can watch the darts final. 😏
not done a great deal today, finished the ironing, vacuumed upstairs and then been out for a good socially distanced walk with a friend. Time soon passed when you are nattering and wrapped up warm.
Not much more to tell you all today, will be continuing with my next blanket which I started on last night.

Today has been getting the washing done (two loads) and taking down the decorations. To be truthful, OH has recorded Christmas songs, and it has been played incessantly, so last night I said enough is enough, so we decided there and then that Christmas is over.
Once that was done, I went into my sewing room. I have made this: rettspace.blogspot.com/2013/06/walker-caddy-tutorial.html The above blog is the pattern I used, and I am very pleased with how it turned out. I made it for my SiL who is still suffering. Actually she can't use her walker at the moment, as her left hand is almost useless. It was broken, badly reset, had to be re-broken, and set again, but has left her with no strength in that hand. Having broken her right arm in August, and still wearing a brace on that arm (and it is still broken - don't ask. grrr) so she has limited ability to actually use the walker. Hopefully it will come in useful when/if she gets the break sorted out. I have been going through my oddments of fabric, as I think I shall make some more. Plus it was an opportunity to use my new iron (Christmas present from OH). It is an Oliso. Once you put down the iron, it lifts itself up on feet. Very clever idea. I had seen Jenny Doan, on Missouri Star Quilts YouTube videos using this iron, and it has been difficult to find someone to sell it in the UK, but no longer. :-)
We had another Zoom chat with the family, again, a real tonic, as always making us laugh.
It's a bit late, so I shall just wish you to have a good night's sleep, x

Morning Lasses, an iffy sort of Day, and bitterly cold. Ireally need to make Bread, as in, I do not need Bread, but am so sick of the Shop bought stuff. It does not require much effort, because, I sit on my Kitchen Stool, and give it ten Minutes with my Hand Mixer, and then later bash it about a bit. Can't justify making any Cake, as my Cupboards are choc full of Goodies. Had to stop sorting my Draws, as think that might have brought on my Asthma, perhaps dust from old Papers. So, that is on hold for now.Am going to make Soup, have got Mushrooms to use up, but don't feel like Mushroom, want something chunky. Better get on, and put my Plans into action. Be back later, have a good Day. love Tina x
