Hi Aly,
According to the 'Help' page, it suggests that if we want to create a new thread, it would say, in the top right hand corner of the thread list page "Create a new thread", but I can't see it.
I think that it'd be a good idea to have a thread for knitting and crocheting or perhaps crafting as a general theme, as that seems like something we all do !!
What do you think?

Another question - can we post pictures on here? And, most importantly, is it easier than it was on CSH? (which I found pretty much incomprehensible!).

If you go back to the general discussion page you should see create a new thread on the right. Not sure if it is just me who can see it so let me know please.
I have not tried a picture yet but am off to do so now!

Right, when you are in the box to write a post at the top right you have 'reply'....click on this and you will get all the icons. Click on add attachment and you get the box to add photo from whatever source you have it in. This function is not available in the quick post.
Hope this makes sense. Be aware there is a limit for the photo size.
