Tonight I am doing a simple pan fry with pork fillet, onion, mushroom, a touch of paprika then adding some stock and a few other bits and later crème fraîche and fresh chopped parsley. Serving with some of our first crop of beans from the garden (picked just an hour ago) and wild rice.

Cooking some pork loin tonight with home grown carrots, potatoes and broad beans (for OH as I don't like them) and some frozen cauli florets. Too hot for a cooked meal but have to use the veg up.

Ever since I started school and had school dinners Friday has been fish day, not that I come from a RC background but that is how it has been although there were probably big gaps in the middle years but Friday Fish Face as we called it at school has been the habit. So tonight we had Haddock and home made oven chips (personally I prefer the deep fried greasy ones but these are apparently much healthier and sadly I cannot now remember the last time I had heavenly greasy ones).
This morning I got hold of some gooseberries and some greengages and I made some gooseberry jam this afternoon, tomorrow I am down at RSPB Minsmere hoping to photograph butterflies and moths etc. so will be making greengage jam on Sunday (if there are enough left because they are superbly ripe and tasty and I am tempted to make a pie with them, whatever. We'll see)

Gooseberry jam is my absolute favourite. Sadly, husband doesn't like goosegogs and I, being diabetic, hardly ever eat jam anymore, so it's not worth making or buying it just for me.
I don't think I've ever tasted a greengage.
When I was a child/teenager, we always had fish and chips for tea on a Friday. And you're right, Chris, you can't beat chips from the chippy.

Found one lonely chicken breast in the freezer, along with 4 bacon rashers. Got half a packet of pastry to use up, so will make a chicken & bacon pie, bulked out with some frozen veggies and white sauce, for dinner. Will have it with potato salad, using our home grown spuds, and fresh picked tomatoes and cucumber.

Roast lamb left over from yesterday, also cold new potatoes, and half a tub of Greek yogurt that's been in the fridge for at least a couple of weeks. So will make a moussaka for tonight's dinner, there'll be enough to freeze half, I should think.

Lots of cold new Potatoes to use up, so probably be a Fry Up, and Apricots never used from yesterday, so not much to do there.

I made a chicken and bacon casserole yesterday, and now have the other half to eat tonight, a great time-saver! At daughter's last night babysitting, she had made a delicious thin chicken soup with veggies, and she'd bought some lovely seedy rolls. A treat for supper! Then, when the children came home from dancing class, we all had an ice-cream sitting in the garden, just listening to the birds. Lovely evening.
