Having collected my English shopping I have enjoyed a proper biscuit with my coffee and a real cheddar and pickle sandwich for lunch! Joy!

After fighting with BT since 25th July, we have had an engineer call to sort out our phone and broadband lines today. We have been suffering from crackling on the phone line (according to the engineer a power cable had come down in gales before Christmas and had caused a power surge in our local exchange and only now are OutReach starting to repair the damage - unbelievable). Our broadband service had been sporadic for months and I was so frustrated that I emailed the CEO of BT! I was impressed when he replied within 20 minutes, late on a Sunday evening. Sorry - should have put all this on the rant page Now we will be able to Skype our son so that he can speak to his Dad and not worry about him from 300 miles distant. Result.

I am picking up a male Muscovy duck tomorrow. I have one female Muscovy and they will be the only pair I have having lost so many females this year!

We've just had an email from the holiday cottage company, offering their sincere apologies for all the problems we had with the cottage. And even better, they're sending us a refund of £100. I thought we'd have a bit of a fight on our hands, or they'd ask for photographic evidence, or sight of the receipts for the kitchen equipment we bought to replace what was missing in the cottage (I brought the things we bought home with us anyway). That's pleased us both.
Now all we need is for the RAC to admit they were in the wrong and refund us the £340-odd we had to pay out for the car repairs.

The RAC have emailed saying they're upholding our complaint, admitting they were in the wrong and agreeing to refund the money we had to pay out for the car repairs. I should think so too! I knew we'd get the money back, as it was their mistake and they didn't have a leg to stand on. It's just annoying that we have to go through all this rigmarole to get back what's rightfully ours anyhow.

Daughter had to cancel this evening as she has a cold! Thought I would have a go at registering my bee hives myself! I managed to sort out my bee keeping number and register my hives. Had an email back confirming my details! It was scary dealing with the ministry of agriculture in French!

Seeing the news that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are engaged....I do love a Royal wedding, and they look so happy together.

Love Prince Harry, and they seem so suited. I know it takes time, but feel the Wedding will be sooner than later.
