Made Bacon and Vegetable Soup. Dinner, Sausage and Bean Pasty, with Cabbage.. and Mash. Going to cook Cabbage like Ihave seen the Chefs do, in Pan with a bit of chopped Onion, and steamed. Being an old Stick in the Mud, never done this before. Pudding, Crème Caramel, which I have still to get underway.

I often do cabbage like that Tina, I add finely sliced onions or leeks and some chopped bacon if I have a spare couple of rashers. I put in a large knob of butter and splash of water, put the lid on and cook for 20 or 30 mins on a low heat, stirring occasionally.
We're having cottage pie, with runner beans neighbours have given us. They're one of the veggies I haven't eaten for years, literally since I was a child - horrible memories of them being stringy and tough but made to eat them. I don't suppose they're like that now though...at least I hope not!

Shepherds pie here too! Or rather cottage to be exact! Usual yogurt ( homemade) for pud!

Ours turned out to be shepherds pie after all - I'd forgotten I'd made it with lamb (and didn't label it for the freezer!).
Haven't yet decided what we're having tonight - I feel like some sort of comfort food though, so it may very well be fish and chips (seems to be a bit of a theme for Saturday nights).

We're having chicken and veg stir fry tonight.
I got a pack of steak and kidney out of the freezer, will cook it overnight in the slow cooker, with onions and mushrooms. Tomorrow afternoon when it's cooled I'll make a couple of pies, one for Sunday, one to freeze. I also took out a pack of pork mince, going to make a couple of meatloaves tomorrow.

Beautiful, cloudless, still day so we are going to have a BBQ with our daughter and family. SiL will do the cooking on our BBQ. I'm preparing all the salad and accompaniments so an easy day for us. I'm going to use disposable plates etc so not much washing up to do! Will be only the 2nd outdoor meal this year. We are due another good day tomorrow so may take advantage of eating outside then too. All depends on OH's health.
