Hi everyone,
Chris, apologies for being a pain in your side ... I think I will give up on this. I just can't get it to put in a picture. Thank you for all your help and your working to try to achieve it.
This morning I have made another Bible quilt block - Job's tears. I must say that making these Bible blocks are good for me to make, using new techniques, but at the same time, I can't see the connection with their titles! Not sure at the moment, just what to do with them - I guess it will eventually become a quilt, but we'll see.
Last night, a box of blueberries that I'd bought before we left UK looked as though it would be a good idea to use them ... so, after dinner I peeled three Jazz apples, 1 conference pear, added the box of blueberries - these became a mixed fruit crumble - really good, and took no time at all to make.
Weather is bright today, but still a little cooler than last week.
Have a good afternoon and evening all, x

Right, uploading pics from a smartphone: I have had a search around this proboards site and if you see the attached link it seems at present what I was doing is in fact all that can be done i.e. switch to desktop mode and then continue as you would on your computer at home but apparently there is a Version 6 expected which will enable images to be uploaded direct from our phones and I have asked when that is expected, the only problem then will be to ensure that they are less than 1mb in size but I will chase that too and report in due course, meantime this link relates: support.proboards.com/thread/669477/uploading-photos-smartphone-forum

Evening all, so glad I popped in, to hear that you are on the mend Iris, was getting really worried. Have tried to keep myy Feet up more, but this Afternoon was lovely, so had to sit in the Garden, and did a few Jobs while SIL mowed the Grass, and I put in three Rows of Carrots, 'Chantenay', little sweet Ones, hoping to find room for another, 'Sweet Candle'. Anyway, did not snooze at all today, so very tired, away to my Bed, love Tina x

Good Moaning, not so bright today, but although cloudy, there is still some Blue, as long as there is a bit of warmth, can sit down by with a Fleece Jacket on, and try and balance that with keeping my Legs up on my Recliner. Shower Day, although I enjoy it, I use a lot more effort than usual, so probably there will be more Dozing going on. Nothing of any Interest to write about, so will close for now, but be back later. Have a very good Day whatever you are doing. Love to all, Tina x

Good morning all,
It's a rainy cool day here, so no sunbathing today... Also got a couple of wash-loads on the go, but they'll have to dry indoors ...
We had an omelette paysanne for our dinner last night - needing to use up some bought ham slices, added to some potatoes and mushrooms, plus sugar snap peas - a fairly easy enough meal.
Not a lot we can do today, so I think I shall sit and hand-sew the quilt for my niece.
Thanks again Chris, for your continued help.
Tina, take care and keep yourself safe and well.
The same goes for you too, Iris, take some time for yourself and put your feet up!
Hope you are both 100% asap.
Max, if and when you get an opportunity to sign in, come and say hello, but also enjoy your time in France.
Have a good day everyone, x

Good morning Ladies on a partly sunny, partly grey but bright morning. Wind yet again is a cooling N/NE; 12 degrees but feels like 9 apparently although I would have said colder.
I watered my hanging baskets and pot plants this morning before breakfast as we don’t seem to have had much, if any, worthwhile rain these last few days.
We were also out early this morning as we had our booster jabs, this time it was the Moderna vaccine, having previously had the Pfizer offerring, so it will be interesting Val to see if we have the same reaction as you and OH did, I’m hoping not obviously, we’ll see.
Took advantage of being ‘in town’ to also do a little shopping in Tesco, the prices are noticeably going up. Tonight I am cooking chicken & tarragon dauphinoise so had to buy a pot of Crème Fraiche.
Tomorrow we won’t have to think about Sunday roast as we are going out for a late lunch at The Plough & Sail in Snape with friends which will be good. I tend to have roast beef at such times because, in my opinion, it benefits from being cooked as a big joint and only rarely do we have visitors to justify doing it at home and then when I see the price of beef I get an ache in my chest; either my wallet or my heart playing up!!
There is a rather vigorous football match on the village recreation ground this morning with lots of cars in the car park and on the surrounding lanes, it is good to see our rec being used and the life it brings.
We haven’t planned anything for today but will probably go for a walk this afternoon if the weather holds.
That’s it, please take care xx

Hi again,
Last night I found some puff pastry in the freezer that looked like the packet was 'blown' - very odd. so I took it out and left it in the fridge overnight to defrost properly, and also six sausages to defrost, too. Today, when I opened the packet, it looked just like it does usually (?) so I peeled the sausages, so that I could roll them to make them longer, and made half of the pastry into sausage rolls, about 30 one-bite size. With the other half of pastry I made this: www.beyondthechickencoop.com/salami-and-cheese-pinwheels/ The 'roll' is sitting in the fridge now to get a bit colder, and ready to slice. I didn't have the mustard as the recipe, so I spread, very thinly, some sweet chili sauce (home-made, of course), and also added two very finely chopped shallots, then the salami and Cheddar cheese (the only cheese in the fridge!), so we'll see how they turn out. Chris, it is similar weather here, on/off fine rain, interspersed with longer dry spells, but quite cool. Enjoy the rest of the day everyone, x

Good Morning, it is a lovely bright Day, we have been lucky here with the Weather, it is cold in the Morning but hot enough by the Afternoon, to sit down by with a Fleece Jacket on, that reminds me to buy myself another One, as when my old One is in the wash as it is now, need One to change in to. Will just have to wash and dry quickly. Must get some Strawberry Plants, just a few, will ask the Boys if they will take me to the Retail Park, some time through the Week when it is not so busy, so I can have a look around. As have only a few Letters to write, and that will help to keep my Feet up, might put a Fruit Cake in the Oven, the easy, peasy, Aly, One, it's so quick, and turns out nice every time. Not a Clue about Dinner yet, but Daughter bought me some nice Wiltshire Ham from Markies, and some new Potatoes, so expect that could be the Answer, she said the Shelves were just about empty. Well, away to make a start, be back later. Love to all, Tina x

Good morning Ladies on a gorgeously sunny morning, yes that cooling wind from the N/NE prevails bringing the temperature down from what could be 14 degrees to barely 10 but sitting here inside looking out at the garden I can see the bird feeder is extremely busy, joyful. A morning like this is a privilege.
Now, before I wax too much more lyrical let me just also say that I hope you are well. I have a vision of Iris chasing her shadow multi-tasking like fury, I hope amongst all of that you are just easing off the pedal a bit.
Yesterday we had our booster jab, having had the Pfizer iteration for all previous jabs and having also taken note of Val and OH’s experience of it, I was wary of the Moderna vaccine which is what we had too. Just to say we had no reaction except the injection site, whilst not even showing a bruise, did hurt overnight if laid upon……so, it went brilliantly.
Following my heart operation some 7 or 8 years ago I have kept a careful eye on my blood pressure etc. and I have just updated my machine to a new ‘smart’ device which bluetooth’s the info across to an app now on my phone whereas I would previously manually input it. Frankly, in the mind, this is more convenient but had I not been going to get a new machine anyway as I felt the old one was getting, well, old I wouldn’t have bothered.
Today, as I said yesterday, we are out for lunch although one of our friends who also had her booster yesterday WhatsApp’d this morning to ask how we had got on as she had a really bad night and her arm is really aching however she is insistent that she is coming too, I’ve told her she’ll have to drink out of smaller glasses if she can’t lift the weight, or Anne & I will gladly help!!
That’s it, I hope you are having this lovely weather too, take care xx

Afternoon all,
Chris, sounds like it's all good regarding your booster. Hope it stays that way. Enjoy your meal with your friends (don't drink too much if you're driving home though!!) Like you, I love watching the birds, and I put out a tub of bird seed each day, but suddenly a flock of sparrows appear, and the seed disappears! I saw something quite unusual yesterday - a collared dove was feeding on the seed when a magpie arrived, there was a little set-to, and then the dove saw off the magpie - not what we expected at all! I haven't seen the magpie since, but the dove returns regularly. Our nightingale seems to like being in the garden - as each evening it is a lone singer breaking the silence of the night.
Tina, that's a good idea to get a second fleece - we have some here for anyone to use - you just never know when it will turn a bit cooler. Wishing you good luck with the strawberry plants. I might have to have a go at the fruit cake too, it sounds good.
Iris, I hope you are still getting better, and feel more like tackling things.
The wind has picked up here this afternoon, and the forecast was not terribly good, so OH decided to do a bit of touch-up painting, around windows/doors etc. I cooked the cheesy salami pinwheel pastries this morning, and they are delicious. I have just finished prepping a beef bourguignon, to sit and simmer for a while. OH had a winebox open, and I have just drained the 'bladder' inside the box for the bourguignon. Oh well, he'll have to open another, I guess!
Have a good rest of the day everyone, x

Evening all. Just popping in quickly to say I'm OK - don't want you lovely people worried about me. Our son will be Zoom calling in about 10 mins so I need to set up my laptop on a table in the sitting room so we can sit together for our get together. Didn't bother with a full roast today. I took 2 pork chops out of the freezer last night and cooked them up with onion and apple and some herbs. I roasted enough potatoes for the two of us with some parsnips and steamed carrots and broccoli to increase our intake of veg. I whipped up 4 individual cheesecakes with a blueberry topping for pud. I've caught up with most of the housework but I really need to get out in the garden. I'll just have to do bits at a time until I get my oomph back Of course it will also be weather dependent. It's been grey with light showers today but quite mild - just the weather to make the weeds grow Daughter has a day off tomorrow to look after great granddaughter while granddaughter attends a hospital appointment. We had a quick meeting with them all before lunch which was lovely. Well must go. Will pop in tomorrow. Bye for now.

Good afternoon Ladies, hoping this finds you well on such a lovely day, sunny and yes there is a bit of cloud but the wind has moved round away from N/NE and with that it has got noticeably warmer and at 14 degrees it finally feels like it.
We had Tai Chi this morning in the village hall and had 3 new members join the session which was good.
There doesn’t seem to have been any kick-back from the booster jab on Saturday which is a blessing although our friend yesterday over lunch was cold and shivery from hers and frankly should probably not have ventured out; although she reports this morning that she is 100% again apart from a slightly sore arm.
Having been out for Sunday lunch yesterday there is no ‘cold’ with bubble & squeak this evening so ‘A’ is making fishcakes which we will have with some baked beans.
It is 4:30 already and it is bright sunshine, only a few weeks back in an hour’s time it would be getting dark. I much prefer this time of year before we start having hot summer days, I guess Spring and Autumn are my favourites.
I hope everyone is OK and enjoying sunshine and good weather as it seems very quiet on here today.
Take care xx

Evening all. At last we've had a really Spring feeling day - the sun's been out since dawn and is just disappearing from view behind the houses along the road. I popped out earlier to buy 4 birthday cards which I'll need to post tomorrow morning to ensure they arrive with the recipients before the Bank Holiday. It was lovely to see clumps of bluebells and wild garlic flowering in the verges; cherry and hawthorn blossom in the hedges and to hear the birds singing loudly. I planted out some cornflower seedlings which I'm growing for our granddaughter's wedding confetti (along with the rose petals I shall be drying).
Had some exciting news at lunchtime. Our granddaughter, D, is going to make us great grandparents again in November. My joy is tempered by thoughts of what the world will be like for our younger family members in future. Note to self - must think positively!
Our doctor granddaughter is coming for lunch on Thursday. She's off to Bristol soon to start her 5 years specialist training as a pathologist. She's sad to be leaving Cornwall but hopes to transfer back down here after a couple of years to continue her course.
Pleased you didn't have a reaction to your booster, Chris. We've still heard nothing from our surgery. I don't like to keep chasing them as they are suffering staff shortages due to illness. I have to say that the dispensary at the surgery was marvellous last Friday. I had ordered OH's repeat prescription early but it had not been delivered. So I called to say that OH would run out of several tablets on Sunday and I was told I could go to the surgery at 6pm to collect my order. The dispenser who came to serve me was looking decidedly frayed around the edges - obviously overworked but helpful and polite.
Hope Tina, Val and Max are OK and just busy/have internet problems.
Bye for now.

Afternoon/Evening all,
Good to hear Chris that you both have not had too much discomfort from the booster still. We too have better weather today, we sat outside in the sunshine with our afternoon cuppa, and I had to take my jacket off as there was very little wind, and the sun was really rather warm.
This afternoon, sorting through the drawers of the freezer, I found two pots of pectin, one apple and one quince, plus a bag of citrus peel - so I had to make some marmalade! It is now just sitting in the saucepan to cool a little - or to settle. It's good to use up stuff from the freezer now'n'again and it also means that as we have two freezers here, it will be saving some space to organise the contents to be in just one of them, then it may be possible to turn off one of them when we go back to the UK, saving some electricity. Bonus. I also found an unmarked pot (we always think we'll remember, but no!) and it turned out to be a tomato-y soup, so I cooked a couple of rashers of bacon, chopped them up and added to the soup. Delish.
It is now very late here @ 11.35pm, so I'd better close (I'd forgotten that I was in the middle of this ... put it down to age! ) Sleep well everyone, x

Good Afternoon all, the Sun has just come out, so will go down to see how things are faring. Yesterday, was the Day from Hell, supposed to have Eye Test at nine o'clock, then Ten, then between 11 am and 12, why can't they get things right, of course, it will be all about Cancellations at their end. Had a Friend coming for Lunch, she came as the Occulist was leaving, don't know if that is the correct Name. Friend needed support, as Son, was up before the Beak, for lobbing a Garden Hose into his estranged Wife's Glass Door, frightening young Children playing nearby. The lady who has done my Feet for Years, just dropped me, without any time to get another, just put a Note through the Letterbox, saying she was unable to continue because some sort of trouble in the Family, sounds very funny, but she has a ninety five year old Mother, plus a Foster Child, so I suspect it could be something to do with one of them, sorry, her Mum, is 97, and still baking, or was. Walking with an Ingrown Toenail, and Nails turned under, is not a pleasant experience, especially when you are in pain with your Legs to start with, so I was up the Creek, searching for a non existant Paddle. Suddenly, remembered my Niece by Marriage had started her own Business in a Town not too far away, and wrote to her asking if she still did it, and could she help me out, maybe a once only, as I was desperate. She did better than that, drove all the way, just got in her Car, and came straight over, did my Feet, and would not take a Penny. She said, to let her know when I needed them doing again. What a lovely Girl. Such kindness! Am going to get a big Bag of Crisps, and things for the Boys, she can't refuse them. I have always believed in passing a kindness on, and this I will do. Oops, friend will be through the Door any Minute, love to all, Tina x
