I didn't realise they were so attractively patterned underneath!

Morning A bit of down time today as we are waiting for a car part too be delivered. Daughter and son in law bought a Citroen Picasso to move over with thinking it sensible to have a French make of car. A couple of months ago a problem occurred with the steering rack. They have had to keep topping it up with a fluid! The garagevsaid it need replacing but they could not provide a right hand drive one. So last week, they took it out, we brought it over and today a company will exchange in for a working one ( they refurbish them), we take it back to the garage in France who will fit it! Madness! Still have shopping to get but that may have to wait until tomorrow. Our last day here! Finished my first sock! Yay! Now have to see if I can make another to match! I am finding it weird sitting in a haze of perfume! I have done some washing here and used Lenor! The smell is so strong. I use an organic product at home with no perfume. It really is another world!

Morning all, enjoy your last Day of the Holiday, Aly. x I have for Years used Bold, Lavender and Camomile Capsules, ever since found out their selling Point, was Freshener included, all the Carers, remark on the lovely Smell, and are surprised when I tell them. Well, this is the Second of the Sunny Days Forecast, so must get out and water as soon as possible. Have made a Pig's Ear of the Pond, might have to take the whole Liner out, and start again. Well, it won't be me, of course, will have to Bribe/cajole, someone to do it. Second Son, is the most likely, but his Grandchildren are coming up next Week, that reminds me, must get a couple of small Gifts to give them, have not seen Baby, who was born just before Xmas. The Tribe is expanding at the rate of Knots. Have Friend coming for Lunch, not seen her for Six Weeks, as she has had an Abcess on her Leg, that left her unable to Drive. Well, M'Dears, better get on to that watering, before the Sun gets too hot. Have a good Day all. Tina x

Thanks for the heads up about the old forum. I hope I can remember my password! I'd like to copy off my animal and bird stories as well as search for recipes. I'll watch out here for the pickle thread. My mountain of giant courgettes keeps growing and I can't give them away! What will the forecast torrential rain do to them, I wonder? I have to admit I'm hoping for another spectacular lightning display so I'm watching the radar map with interest. Meanwhile I must get Ruby out for a good walk before the rain starts.

Morning all, really hot and sticky again, I really don't like this weather. Hopefully we'll have a thunderstorm to cool things down (I might go out and stand in it! That's if we actually have one - the local forecast says not everyone will get them - helpful....not!).
Waiting in this morning for someone who's already late....we do make allowances for the fact that we're so rural that it's difficult for people to find us, but I hope they ring soon, it's so annoying if people make arrangements and then don't stick to them and don't get in touch. Also having a parcel delivered today, at least they give a 1-hour time slot and generally do keep to it.
Having said we're waiting in....I don't think I'll be going out today anyhow, it's far too humid. Think it will be something cold for dinner, couldn't bear to have the oven on.

Morning Last full day in Blighty. Car part sorted yesterday but not without two phone calls! Off to Tesco this morning with three shopping lists! Should be fun! Rather a lot of Cadburys involved! My second sock is progressing well, much easier now I know how it is done. I have decided these will be welly boot socks as they are a bit too big. The next pair I will make smaller! I am trying to find a smaller circular needle. The thunderstorm reached here in the early hours and it is a little cooler this morning. Feels really weird not having much to do!

Morning all !! Had another frustrating morning yesterday still pursuing my Purple Emperor project, nothing showed up. I have a day off from it today as have some other stuff to attend to. Big thunderstorm in the night and plenty of rain but this morning it is bright, sunny, fresh and breezy so a lovely start to the day here in Suffolk. There was a pub quiz in our pub last night, which is always good value, the good company of friends and a couple of pints in your local what could be better. I finally got round to making my greengage jam yesterday afternoon which tastes really good but has only got a 'soft set' and I am debating whether to put it back on the stove or not but I worry if I do that the colour will be ruined and also it will get sweeter as the liquid evaporates off and I have already loaded it with lemon to neutralise any over-sweetness (it is all a matter of taste really but I do not like very sweet jams and marmalade) so I will probably leave it as it is, it was good on my toast anyway this morning.

Morning all, bit miserable Today, but might brighten up later. Enjoy your last Day in the UK Aly, and hope you get everything you want x I would leave the Jam, Chris,Flavour, is the most Important, just thinking of that lovely Greengage Flavour is making my Mouth Water. I used to live in Suffolk, best time ever. x Will be out in the Garden, but only to water, the Pots soon dry up, and have so many Things in Pots, also have a Patch of Garden, I have Potatoes in just now, but have Plants I have bought this Year, like Philadelphus, in Pots, so at thre end of the Season, Tatties will come out, and the new 'Flower Garden', Plants will go in. Found a Recipe in One of my Books, Ruthie, that I think might do, it uses both Courgettes, and Beans, both Things hard to use up. Got to do bits and Pieces, but will put it up later. Hoping I will get a Carer who will wash my Hair, Today. I have a Visitor, at Lunchtime, so want to make a few Scones. Must make a Start, have a good Day all, and good Luck with the 'Purple Emperor', Chris.

I would leave the jam as it is too. We often have soft jam as it is good with plain yogurt or ice cream. I also use it when making a sponge pudding! Other James set well so I get a variety!

Yes, I use mine for that purpose too, Aly, lovely in the Base of a Sponge Pudding, or as you say, in Yogurt. Not made any Jam this Year, as need to buy a new Cooker, and can't make up my Mind what make to buy. Will have to make a move soon, as the Freezer is full of Fruit.

Morning all, safe journey home Aly.
A few days of wet and windy weather, interspersed with sunny spells, is forecast for us....at least Steve won't have to water the garden much! Plan on doing a big inventory today of the freezers and store cupboard stuff. As an experiment, I'm hoping to not go food shopping at all next week, we should be able to survive on what we have already, plus the veg and fruit we are now harvesting from the garden. So a day of list making and menu planning, need to make some dog food too.

Morning all, and safe Journey Home, Aly. Same as you here, Sue, light Rain, at the Moment, supposed to be interspersed with Sunny Spells, might come later. Iam so behind with my Orders, am beginning to panic, have had so many unexpected Visitors, not getting any Work done. so this Morning must go straight to the Work Table. Am trying to raise Funds to bring Dogs out of Bulgaria, a Friend, is going out, she lives over there, and has set up a Rescue Centre, so as well as her Fare, she needs the Dogs too. Do you have a Comprehensive List of which Firms test on Animals ? Aly. Was appalled to see these poor old Monkeys, arriving at Monkey World, twenty Years in the Laboratory. Like poor old broken down fat Men. I had to turn off, was so distressed. Better get a move on, I really need to do what you are doing Sue, but that will have to wait. Have a good Day all. Tina x
