Glad you got the Card, Iris, but will be doing the same as you next Year, and only send to close Friends, and my Sisters, trouble is I have so many Relatives. Tidied up, second Son came and took stuff to post, and have done my Charity Envelopes, and a Card to my Child in Myamar, got a Picture of her today, and she looks like a young Woman, almost, she must be thirteen now. Am so looking forward to the Final of 'Strictly', tonight, don't really care who wins, they are all worthy Winners, but secretly, I love HRVY and Janette. away to make my Tea. bye the noo.

Evening We started the day with a massive water leak. Found the problem and turned off the water. Called a plumber who could not come until this evening. Hoping he can fix it as it is bad enough going over to a Gite for the loo in daylight. Overnight will be hard. Have to fill the kettle in a Gite and keeping a large jug filled in here. It is a week until our buyers arrive but I guess I should be thankful it happened before they come. Our buyers are taking over our electricity and water bills from 27th. This is to help them gain residency here. Their solicitor has advised them not to sign until they have checked the paperwork for the fields they are buying. The farmers will give their decision on 24th and their solicitor is then on two weeks holiday. This will delay completion until early January. Nothing we can do. Lots of packing done. The pompiers ( firemen) have just been with their calendar. Just as well we had some money in the house.

Afternoon ladies. Hope all is well with you. Another wet/dry day with sunny intervals here. It was a mistake putting my laundry on the line yesterday - the blessed line snapped and my washing landed up in the hedge BUT at least it didn't land in the mud The land is absolutely sodden and some poor folks have been flooded, not just around the coast but by torrents running from the fields and river overtopping. At least we haven't had that to contend with. Hope the plumber has fixed your leak, Aly. Just what you don't need but, as you say, good job it didn't happen over Christmas when tradesmen would be loathe to turn out and if they did might charge you an inflated rate. Such a shame that the legal process is dragging on an on for you. Had another busy morning in the kitchen - a roast dinner cooked, mincemeat slices baked as well as a bread pudding for our neighbour. Will make more truffles tomorrow to use as little gifts for other neighbours along with the mincemeat slices. Oh just had a call from our son who wants to Zoom in a couple of minutes instead of tonight. Enjoy the rest of your day.

Morning Girls, a lovely bright Morning, but am so busy, just popped in to say hi, . Received a Gift Hamper from a Polish Friend of my Daughter, never received a Hamper before, rather exciting. The Contents, are the usual, very beautifully wrapped, Chutney, Strawberry Jam, Biscuits, Cordial, yes, rather like being on the receiving end for a change. Got my Dinner in the Oven, Chicken, and the rest. Went Outside to see if there was any Rosemary, and there was, also still some Parsley, sometimes there is a bit of low growing Mint. Received the Tree from my Sister, it is nothing like I expected, being only about six Inches, but has a Flower on it, no name, but I know it is Magnolia. Good Job you found that Leak in Time, Aly, hope P managed to fix it/x better away and dish up Dinner. bye the noo. Tina x

Hi ladies,
This morning decided to pick more crab apples - so, at the moment, having cleaned, halved and cooked them, the pulp is now draining into a nice big jug, ready for tomorrow's jelly-making. (The prepping took sooo long!!)
Also managed to do three washloads, but no chance of drying outside, so I have some on the airer, and those that can be tumbled are in the dryer.
Like you, Iris, we've had a Zoom get-together today with the family. It is such a blessing, being able to do this, while we can't meet up in person. What a shame about your clothes line. I can imagine what you were saying, under your breath!! :-)
Lucky you, Tina, receiving a hamper. Enjoy it! :-)
Aly, these sort of things, water leaks etc, always seem to happen at inconvenient times (Ha, when are they convenient?). Luckily the repair that OH made on our underground water leak (in France) seems to have worked, but it delayed us coming home. However, the other leak, from the roof of the archway, OH is hoping he managed to sort it, and we have asked our neighbour to check on it - I think there's a lot of rain forecast tonight there, so it'll be a test on it.
Luckily, we are currently still in Tier 2, but both son and daughter are now in Tier 4. Although we are still in Tier 2, we can't go out as we're quarantining, but on Christmas Eve we shall deliver the gifts, and then we plan to have a Zoom meeting on Christmas morning to open the gifts together, while online.
Great to see the oldie, Bill Bailey win the Strictly - I saw this online, though I didn't see the programme.
Have a good evening, x

Do not know why, cannot use two hands like other people, as only have the use of one Arm. Yes, what an example to older people, Bill Baily winning 'Strictly'. The other one, Maisie, might have been a better Dancer, but it was the People's favourite. Sorry, have to come back later, might have righted itself by Then, the Computer, that is. love Tina x

The bad Penny back again. Funny how this works sometimes and not others. Been making Cards this Morning, and the Sun came out for a while, so sitting at the Window, have been relaxing, and feel the benefit of it. Saw the new Neighbour working in the Garden, so went to introduce myself, he seems very pleasant, not that old, only sixty, so he was lucky to get one of these Pensioners Bungalows, as he's not even a Pensioner! But what really gladdened my Heart, was, he is digging himself a Vegetable Patch, he says he likes his Vegetables. So thought not being a Woman Neighbour, we would not have anything to talk about, but a Gardener, is a whole different matter, we will always have something to talk about. Am not making a Meal, have lots of odds, and ends to use up. Hope all is well with you all. love Tina x

Hello ladies,
Just boiling up my second set of crab apple jelly - so while I'm waiting I thought I'd pop in to see everyone, though it is quiet at the moment. Hoping to get to see our offspring to give the gifts, but it is looking increasingly unlikely. It'll have to be Christmas later next year, I reckon!! Hope everyone's well and safe. Have a good evening, x

Evening all. Thank you so much for your card, Val. Much appreciated. Which tier are you in now? Such a shame when you can't even deliver gifts. Well I've noticed I'm growing webbed feet It's not stopped raining all day - not sure how much more rain can be absorbed into the soil. You may have read/heard in the news that the Eden Project had to shut as it was flooded, along with other villages, roads etc. So glad I don't really need to go out for anything major. May pop out for some fresh fruit and veg and milk ? tomorrow or Wednesday but that's it. Pleased that you have a new neighbour with the same interests as you, Tina. Will be good when you can get outside at last and have a natter over the fence Must go the beeper on the cooker is calling.

Morning Girls, very cold here, but the Sun is shining, I did not want to put my Toe out of Bed this Morning. I never have Heating on at Night, because of my Asthma. warming up a bit now. Eldest Son, is coming to do me a last Shop before Xmas, and Friend is coming from Aberdeen, to deliver Parcels, all here, this is the Depot! But she can't come in, so hope it stays dry. Sorry, you did not receive your Card, Val, will have to make you a New Year One. Am actually looking forward to clearing my Craft Draws, have got so much to get rid of. Second Son, can't finish my Xmas Dinner here, as he was going to, roast Potatoes, etc, so will just have to be heated up, as he lives quarter of an hour away. Away to get dressed, be back later. love Tina x

Evening ladies. Well it's come to that time when I think, if I haven't got it then we will do without it! All presents wrapped, neighbours' little gifts delivered, fresh fruit and veg bought so time to wind down a bit now. Don't intend to go near the shops until the New Year if I can avoid it. I need to defrost my upright freezer so will be trying to use up the contents to make the job easier.
Enjoy the rest of your day. Hope Val and Aly are only absent because they are busy or having internet problems. Bye for now.

Apologies for my absence - I don't know where the day has gone! :-)
I finalised my Tesco online shop for tomorrow, making sure I'm getting plenty of veggies, and bits of fruit.
If our Tier (2) doesn't change by Christmas Day (hope so) then we are going to drive to daughter's where we believe our son will also be (they are in a support bubble), and we have arranged that they will put the gifts to us in the garage, and we will take those and leave all of our gifts to them in the garage too. This way there is no possibility of passing any infection. OH and I have had our NHS Covid test results - both negative.
I have bagged up individual jars of the crab apple jelly to give to all our close neighbours - it's just a little gift, and home-made, so I hope they won't feel they have an issue with it. Our quarantine doesn't end until tomorrow night (Wednesday)... ooh just noticed, it is midnight here now!! So just another 24 hours then! Then I can deliver to the neighbours.
I shall be cooking our small turkey on Thursday, so that on Friday, when delivering to our son and daughter, it won't take too long back home again to just cook the veggies.
What a nightmare for all those lorry drivers in Kent, a lot of them not being able to get home for Christmas. I feel for them. :-(
Well, ladies, I hope you sleep well. Stay safe and stay well. x

Morning This week started as very difficult with our consultants appointment on Monday. Inconclusive so more tests ordered. Today whilst out shopping we had an email from the notaire to say have safer ( the farmers) has said they do not want the fields. Now we just have to wait for a date to sign and complete. We have to wait for the paperwork to be checked by our buyers solicitor then it will be all systems go. We met the couple we are buying from yesterday at the English shop and they are very stressed too. They are returning to England and are worried about getting in. It is now definite we are moving. Have organized a friend to finish sorting out the flooring to take the load off P. The wool for the aria blanket came yesterday and I have started the first square. Think I will do the squares as it is different. Such a lot of rain in the last 24 hours there are many flooded fielldz. Good you have a neighbour you will get on with Tina. Hope everyone is coping with the lockdowns. Our buyers have booked a ferry for Saturday. They have to have COVID tests tomorrow before setting out. Will start taking our things over to the new house soon to store in the garage. It will be a very busy couple of weeks now.
