The start of a new Gardening Year. Have sent for my Tomato Plants. Cucumbers, Seeds of all sorts, and have my Broad Beans in Water, so they will germinate quicker.

Not potted up my Broad Beans yet, am waiting for their little Tails to appear, but have Compost, and Pots ready. Warmer today, cannot wait to get outside, but too slippy yet to chance it. Friend, brought me, four Potted Plants, two with Daffs in, and two Hyacythe. Must order Gloves, the ordinary Ones, that cover everything, as can see from here, the Strawberries are full of old Leaves, just itching to get rid of Them, shuggle the Roots, put new Compost on, and give them a feed. My Gran used to say,"they like the Air to their Roots!"

My Beans now have their Tails, so are getting potted up today. Might sow some Tomato Seeds, just an experiment, as it is a bit late. I still have to order Marrow Seeds, think it will be 'long Green', and need Peas. That is the Problem when you can't get out, sometimes you have to take what you can get, but always manage to get Kelvedon Wonder. The Carer, cometh, so be back later. Tina x

On the way out to the Rubbish Bin yesterday, saw a splash of White, think it is a Wild Garlic Plant. Hooray! if it is, my Neighbour used to have it in her Garden, and did give me some, but it disliked the Move, and died on me, it was all dug out,as it is very invasive, but when the Weather warms up, will find a good Spot for it. And even if it is not Garlic, will do the same, it's a pretty Visitor.

Oh Tina, lucky thing, what a bonus if it is wild garlic - chopped up leaves and mixed with butter would make a wonderful garlic butter to go in the 'garlic' bread. Yum.

Well, won't be flavouring any Butter for a while, if it is Garlic, will have to give it the best of Care, but I like a Challenge!

My Beans, Peas, COURGETTE, CUCUMBER,AND MARROW, all through, another couple of Weeks, and they must go Outside. Going to sow a few Tomatoes. And I do have wild Garlic, but had to buy it, Iknow it can be very invasive, so will be careful what I sow it in. Have got some nice Pots, earmarked for it. Soon have a nice pulling of Rhubarb, really need to give it a good Feed.

Moved the Rhubarb, it will give me better access to it. Been trying to get a small Acer 'AUREUM', I fell in love with it, when I saw it in a Gardening Programme. What a Job to find one small enough, as it will be planted in a large Tub, the One I took my dead Plum Tree, out of, never got a Plum, as those damn resident Pigeons, Mutt, and Jeff, ate every Bud as it came through. I finally got one on Ebay, so am a happy Bunny. Daughter, picked up her Tomato Plants, and her Cucumbers, today, and will get Son, to pick his up tomorrow. IF he has to come over, he can bring me a Dinner as well! Am I glad that I sowed my own Seed this Year. have got five Peppers to plant, that I grew from the Pepper itself. Am going to watch a bit of Tele.bye the noo.x

Nothing like home-grown veggies and fruit. Our veg-growing paled into none, so we don't grow them anymore. Our veg patch that did so well originally, now gets little sunshine as our neighbour has grown trees that restrict the sun from reaching them. We still have fruit cordons though, and our Conference pear always has provided plenty of pears. Gooseberries are never-ending!

Our irises at the moment are stunning, and in so many colours - deep blue, bright sunshine yellow, white, lilac and a deep purple. Our garden is definitely a spring garden with daffodils, tulips and forget-me-nots. Now the roses are beginning. The Shropshire Lad has just opened its first peachy-coloured rose. Rambling Rector also has its first white little flowers.

I'd love a "Rambling Rector" but don't really have anywhere to plant one. I could let it rambling through the sycamores on our Cornish hedge but I would never be able to prune it as the hedge is about 5' high and the trees must be 30' on top of that Our garden is also better in Spring. Hopefully I'll still have some colour in the border along the roadside which is doing well at the moment.

That's interesting, Iris, that you said about it becoming difficult to trim, as OH has to trim ours twice a year. In full bloom, it looks as if it is covered in snow!

Have dug up the last of the potatoes and licked the last peas. Raspberries, cherries and black currants picked and in the freezer. The comfrey I planted is huge and the chickens keep eating the lower leaves. Also started another nettle fertilizer as have loads of nettles this year.

Well, the whole of June has passed and we are into July, been so much Rain, not able to get out much, but here's what I am eating. Lettuce, Radish, Courgette, early Peas, and small 'pullings' from the Carrots. Scarlet Runners, planted late, now climbing up the Poles. Cucumbers. Fruit, Strawberries, Raspberries, and Gooseberries. Gooseberries, will have to be cut back, in fact, as it is still dry, am going out to make a start on that. My 'ALICANTE' Tomato plant is doing well, another couple of weeks, and a bit of Sun, my Gardeners Friend, Tomatoes, have small Tomatoes on, and 'Sungold'which were a very late delivery, and outside, have Flowers on.
