Picked my first Radishes, so will have sliced with my Salad. So cold I just happed up the Plants that I was going to plant out, and came in. Am short of Space, the usual, so think I will pick the Radishes, and put a row of Beans, in their Place, leave it a few Days, will have to sow more Radish, but use empty Bird Ball Tubs for this, usually, so will do that, again, they are so useful. Have to start feeding the Strawberries, they had their Starter Feed, ages ago, have special Feeds for all my Fruit, and Veg.

Alull in the Rain, so went out to try and protect my Cucumbers somehow, as have already lost One, so going to start a few more off Managed to transfer Calendulas into their Pots, so that's done. Radish, are getting too big now, so going to pull them all soon, leave me space for Leeks, one of the must haves for Winter. This Weather is not good for Man nor Beast, so clammy, and wet.

Too hot to do anything in the Garden, but when it cools down, will pick Fruit. Was going to pull up Broad Beans, but there are some nice Ones coming along, so ust topped them, should have done it ages ago, but will give them a Seaweed Feed, when I go out again, and leave them another couple of Weeks. Pulled my first Red Onion, so will have that in a Salad for Dinner.

Eating everything from the Garden, Lettuce, Carrots, am not a Carrot lover, but hope I can find the Packet these came from, delicious. Raspberries, a good Crop, Strawberries, very poor, but the Weather, was against them. Beautiful Red Onions, good Crop of Broad Beans, and the dwarf Broad Beans, are covered in Flowers. poor dwarf Peas, but some got eaten, by what, I know not. Have got Leeks, and Garlic, coming on, and after losing at least four Plants earlier, have at last got young Cucumbers, and several different Tomato Plants. I should not encourage Pigeons, they are so destructive, but have a very friendly one, who comes walking close to my Chair, not a bit afraid, looking for Crumbs, dammit, am putting some in my Pocket, this Evening, can't bear his beady Eyed little Face!

Your garden is doing really well, Tina. Our last few years' attempts have come to nothing so this year, we just have the fruits - no salad-y or veggie stuff.

Yes, the Garden, is very productive, Val, despite the Weather, am now pulling the Carrots, and freezing them, to let the Leeks get on, might put another lot of Beans in, nothing to lose.

Tried to do some cutting down and clearing up, but the Wasps defeated me, they were determined to get me, so hied me Indoors. Got half a Dozen small Cucumbers developing, so should get some, unless the Weather turns very inclement. Still got Lettuce, but my Chilli Peppers, that have been outside all Summer, are not big enough to pick. I could bring them indoors if I had the room, but the Windowsill is full already. Loads of Tomatoes, and am reluctant to bring them in, when we might, only might, get more Sun.

We came home to see that the conference pears are looking good, still a little hard but won't be long before they're ready. Loads of apples covering the Bramley tree. Last year we had just a couple of apples. Strange isn't it - they have 'off' years. Down in France, the figs were just starting to ripen - I have brought some home, but the shame is we won't be there to utilise the rest of 'em! We don't have any vegetables, just fruit. The last few years have proved that we just can't grow them in this garden, it is a waste of time. Last year the runner beans barely climbed two feet and there were no beans. So now we just stick to the fruits!!

Brought all the Green Tomatoes in, so got a few Days before have to make Chutney, they will keep. Put the furthest on Ones, in the Paper Bag, to ripen, but they were small Tomatoes, anyway, Nice out, but windy, and have too much to do, to sit outside. Got a Cucumber, and should get one More, if I put covering over the other Plant outside, might get even more, as there are loads of Babies.
