We've just watched the Children in Need 80s stars concert on BBC1, lots of singers/bands from the 80s, one of my favourite eras for music. Oh my word, how they've aged (haven't we all!!) and boy have their voices suffered! Respect to them all for singing live though, when they could have just mimed to their original recordings. The last group on was Europe, singing Final Countdown, love that song - it was quite painful to listen to it live now though, unfortunately, he just screamed it, and out of tune The only ones who sounded anything like their original voices from years ago were A-ha, Morten Harket's voice was magical still.

We watched that, too. There was a girl there - Louisa Johnson, singing Alone, who gave a good account of herself, amazing voice, I thought! I have to admit I hadn't heard of her before...!

Well, after all the Hype, did not enjoy Blackpool as much as I have in previous Years. Why do the Judges keep on about Jonnie's Bum, cut him some Slack, he has explained why his Bum sticks out, it's to do with, sorry can't spell it, but his artificial Leg, anyway. Let them try to do what he does. I felt Debbie was dreadfully undermarked by two of the Judges, and Susan looked as if she was in Pain, although she Danced well. Oh and the Music was awful. These Modern Songs don't suit the Dances.

Sorry to see Jonny go, but think it was his time. Husband and I both thought Debbie's dancing was stiff and stilted but, even though I hate to admit it, she still danced better than Jonny. I reckon you're right, Tina, his bum sticking out is to do with his balance - having an artificial leg must affect that. Anyway, he's done so well to get so far, him being a total non dancer and out of his comfort zone, and he was such a gentleman. Although I do really like Alexandra's dancing (think she's just brilliant, a total pro), her gushing emotional displays are getting up my nose a bit. Thought Gemma's dance was lovely. I do like Susan - as she's honest enough to admit, her dancing isn't the best, but she does give every dance her all and it really shows how hard she works each week, and she and Kevin make a lovely pair. My favourite dance of the night was Davood and Nadiya's, I really like him.
Husband and I went to Blackpool on holiday years and years ago, think it was only our 2nd holiday together (before we were married). I remember going in the Tower, I just loved it, I was totally enthralled. We did go up in the lift to the top - however, since I'm terrified of heights, it was as much as I could do to get out of the lift, and even when I did, I stood with my back pressed against the wall beside the lift doors and couldn't bear to move another step. Needless to say, we didn't stay up there long!

Am terrified of Heights , too Sue, hate Lifts. I love Davood, but that Outfit was awful, in fact thought all the Outfits were, People vote for Kevin, he is so well liked, and Susan is a trier, well, she is a Scorpio ! So is Debbie !

Ooh I really liked Davood's outfit, Tina - it showed off his bulging muscles! ;-)

Loved everything about 'Strictly', last Night, especially Joe's Dance, and Debbie's, was one of the best Night's for Dances.

Yes, Joe's - and even Debbie's (she says grudgingly....I don't like the woman but have to admit she's a very talented dancer and incredible for her age - I couldn't do it!) were both really good. I felt sorry for Gemma, that really wasn't her dance and she looked very uncomfortable doing it.

I'm so sad Susan and Kevin have gone....it was their time though, all the remaining dancers are more talented. Susan's comments when she and Kevin were announced for the dance off were a hoot - she's just so funny and her ability to laugh at herself is incredible. I cried though during her final speech. She may not have been a brilliant dancer, but I reckon she and Kevin's partnership was simply the best. I hope they do stay friends forever.
Darcey's outfits every week are just beautiful, she's so stunning and elegant, I think she knocks spots off Shirley.
We're enjoying Blue Planet 2, it's amazing.

Watched Simon Reeve in Turkey, very scary, it straddles East and West, would not want to go there, they rely on Tourism, which is down 40 per cent, but the Top Man is building the biggest Mosque, in the World. No One seems to know what to do next.

Agree about Darcy's Outfits, she is one classy Lady. Harder for Shirley to look elegant, as she is so petite.

Mary Poppins, it was not, more like Pocohontas doing a War Dance. Although the Dancing was good, as always, Alexandra, looked ungainly. Debbie is beginning to look exhausted.

I thought Debbie's and Alexandra's dances were spectacular. I agree about Debbie, it's definitely beginning to tell on her - not surprising, given her age. I certainly couldn't do what she does, and I'm younger than her.
The new series they're advertising that starts in a couple of weeks, Feud (about the - well, feud! - between Bette Davies and Joan Crawford) looks good. I thought Whatever happened to Baby Jane? was one of the most psychologically terrifying, but excellent, films I'd ever seen.

I have heard Vicky Gill say that the Dancers have the final say, in their Outfits, that Dress of Alexandra's needed a bit more length, it certainly showed her muscular Thighs. I certainly did not see much relating to Mary Poppins. It must be dispiriting for the other Contestents to have two such talented Dancers at the top of the Leader Board almost every Week. If you believe Mollie and AJ are just 'good Friends', their body Language says different. Good Luck to them all.
