Snowing heavily here Sue. How much more Rain can you take down there , could have dangerous consequences. Luckily, any Rain I have runs downhill to the Sea, only a ten Minute Walk away.

Currently still dry, but dull. I expect the rain will follow at some point.
Yesterday we drove into Cognac, and had to go over the Charente river - it was so flooded, everywhere, that it wasn't possible to see any fields. Several of the roads had barriers across them - route barree - or, road closed.
In many places, small posts with flags had been stuck into the sides of the roads, just to let drivers know where the edges were!
In all the time we've been coming here, it is the worst it's ever been.
Roll on springtime!

Alternate sunny spells and heavy downpours with strong winds. Fed up with the fields being flooded (so Betty can't go in them) and the lanes full of mud.

Ditto to what Sue says! At least I have managed to dodge the downpours long enough to take daughter's dog around our fields which are still very wet but not inundated. One place in the West of Cornwall has had 56% more rain than normal in January. Think we are close behind. Still having to pump out our septic tank every four or five days while we wait for the contractor to come and dig exploratory percolation pits. Don't think he will have to dig down far to meet the water table! Please, please turn off the tap up there

We are still under water here. Someone said recently he saw a bearded man on a boat with a load of animals!

Funny thing, yesterday we saw a boat in the middle of what was a field - not sure if it was intentional or making use of the floods!

Well, am glad that I live at the top of a Hill. Dry, and windy.
