I can see you online Jan - hope all is well.
Lost track of today - don't know where it went!! Ha ! Had a Tesco delivery today, so we're settled for this week.
My midwife friend said they are running short of baby hats in the birthing unit at the hospital - going through my donated knitteds, and there are over 30 little hats, (plus little matinee coats and cardigans), so she's taking them all. However, she sent a text to say that her OH had been in contact with a Covid person, so now she is self-isolating. In the meantime, I crocheted two more baby hats today.
Made a chicken and mushroom pie for dinner this evening - really nice and tasty.
Sleep well ladies, x

Morning Headed out early to drop off the recycling and a trip to the rubbish bin with three more bags of used bubble wrap and sticky tape. Nearly at the end of packing bits. Found my iron yesterday so was able to reduce the pile. P is outside now starting to put together the new chicken coop and run. Cats have been out early and all safely home again now. They are used to using the dining room window and sit on the sill waiting for me to open it. The bitumen spill is improving we now need some sand to cover it and soak up the remainder. We actually have a bit of sunshine this morning. Have a mobile mechanic coming this afternoon to look at P’s car. Something has come loose. Raisin cookies in the oven as the biscuit box is empty. Happens so quickly. P has ordered me some wireless earphones. For listening to you tube things and music. They work with blue tooth which I just need to enable on my iPad . Getting on well with grandsons jumper. Another week should see it done. My sewing machine is set up again so just need to find my enthusiasm again and finish off the bits I have waiting. Friends asked what we would do without the Gites to run but every day is full and I haven’t even started on the garden yet. Don’t think I will ever be at a loss.

Hi peeps,
Huh, woke up about 4.30 this morning and after an hour of trying to sleep, got up and went into my sewing room. I took my phone to keep an eye on the time, and started to do a bit of ironing some fabrics, when my phone beeped with a message. For the next hour or so was chatting to my two nieces*. Ending when one of them had to go off to work, at 6.30 - she is one of those 'flying angels' a carer visiting the clients in their own home. Quite surreal, at such an early hour! *We have a group thread, just the three of us.
As you can see in my last post, Jan was online at the same time as I was last night. She must be fine then.
Aly, looks like things are coming together for you. Looking forward to hearing about your chickens. How many cats do you have?
Yesterday, I made a chicken and mushroom pie, topped with puff pastry. Very tasty. Although we could only eat half of it, so I guess that's for dinner tonight then...
Tina, hope you're feeling better today. Iris, I bet you're feeling happier now your house is a bit warmer - good luck with the bathroom re-organisation.
Have a good day, ladies, x

Morning Girls, have turned the Heating off, am fed up of being dozy, it is pretty cold, so guess, I will have to put it on again. Waiting for Doctor, first Visit for over a year. It is awful waiting, you can't get on with anythingIt is great that everything is coming together, Aly, when will you get your Chooks? Have you got a specific Breed in Mind. I suppose ait would pay to find out the Breed most People have in your Area, though whether that makes any difference, I don't know. I really miss Knitting, more than any other Thing, I used to knit watching Tele, even. Been going to put my Sweet Pea Seeds in Water, give them a start, then can get them on a Sunny Windowsill, where we might eventually get some Sun. I have bought some Tomato Seeds, that are bred especially for growing on the Windowsill, so going to give them a whirl. How long does it take to Crochet a ewee Babies Hat, Val? Do you make Jackets as well? Always good to know you are helping in a good Cause. Will be back later, maybe get up enough oomph, to write a bit more of 'the story' bye the noo. love Tina x

Good Afternoon Ladies, the Doctor has been, and I have a Bowel Infection, no Surprise there then, my Nurse Friend, said as much, but she also said he would give me Antibiotics to clear it up, and he did not, just said a light Diet, and plenty of Drinks, can't get much lighter, had a Pot of Custard, and two dry Oatcakes yesterday. Today, have had two dry Oatcakes, and a Latte. But going to chance a bit of mashed Potato, with a poached Egg Today, not got any get up and go at all. So will have to try and eat a bit more.Asked the Boys to get me some Yogurts. The amount of Food I am going to have to throw out, as got a Delivery Sunday. Forgot to say, the Windowsill Tomato, is called Minibelle, am really excited about growing it.

Really wanted some Buff Orpington chickens but doubt I will find any. Might have to reinstall Facebook to aid my search. The frame of the run is up which is a start. The coop needs a coat of linseed oil before being put together. Planning on getting six females which might have to come from a local market. The run can be moved so we can stop the grass going to mud by moving it around regularly. The veg patch has a fence all round and about a foot of corrugated iron inside presumably to keep rabbits out. Have not seen any yet. P is busy cleaning my mini as we have a chap coming on Sunday who seems certain to buy it for his daughter. The plan is to do a train trip to Germany buy another mini and drive it home. Prices are much better in Germany, it will be left hand drive and a German garage will help us import it to France. Hoping for a blue one this time.

Evening ladies. Not long back from the surgery. I rang yesterday to ask if OH could stop taking the painkillers as they seemed to be undoing the benefits of his other long term tablets. The GP gave him a good check over and said to keep on taking them, to drink at least 2 pints of water a day rather than tea and coffee and to do more exercise (although he did admit OH is between a rock and a hard place because walking now is very painful for him due to him requiring a second knee replacement which his specialist has refused to do). It wouldn't be so bad if OH could go for a walk but it's been far too cold and windy. I've tried to get him to follow online video exercises for seniors but he's not keen. Hey ho can only but try.
I spent the morning catching up on ironing and dried more washing outside. Tomorrow it's due to rain (: so I'm going to rub down and repaint the hearth where the old logburner stood before tackling the usual hoovering etc. Yet more admin to sort too. I'm hoping that soon I can get the clothes hanging rail back in the wardrobe next to the airing cupboard so I can finally replace the remainder of our clothes in their usual home.
Sorry you are still feeling poorly, Tina. It's miserable for you.
You really are progressing apace with making your new house a home, Aly. No wonder you are not missing the gites!
Just going to put my feet up tonight to build up my energy ready for a busy day tomorrow.
Take care all.

A bit late today! Tina, the crochet hats take just under a couple of hours, but I am a lot slower at knitting, and the one I'm currently knitting has already been on and off all day, and I've only knitted 2". The lady who has been supplying our (former) group with knitteds is still going strong and she has already knitted many cardigans(25) and a couple of matinee coats, plus, of course all the blankets(14). Twenty of the cardigans have matching hats, plus 11 spare hats. I have knitted cardigans in the past but not any more.
My SiL has been in a lot of pain since last August with her broken arm (still not fixed), and today she fell from the stairlift and has broken two ribs.
Very distressing.
Sleep well ladies, x

Just lost everything I had written! Miserable Day here, cold Grey, and wet. Am very sorry to hear about your Sister-in-law. Val, that is awful, it seems there is not enough Care being taken. I would like to say, this wee Group, this Band of Brothers, sorry about that! have kept me going, and provided a sense of normality, in these dreadful Times, so thank you for being my lovely Friends, it means a lot. x

Wanted to ping that, in case I lost everything again. Am going to have another go at Crocheting, but have tried many times, can cast on, and do a row or three, but it gets bigger, and bigger, will have to persist, as it would be an ideal Hobby for me. My concentration levels are not high, however. In my Letter that was lost Val, I am , can't find a Word for it, a lack of care , for your SIL, poor Lady, what she is going through, your Brother, must be so worried, am sending loving Thoughts to her. Am enjoying Junior Bake Off, but why such an Age difference, the youngest ten, then a Boy of fifteen, does not seem fair to me, but having said that, the wee One, who wants to be a Surgeon, when she grows up, is a smart wee Cookie, and doing well. Better go and get dressed, Carer, will be here shortly. Have a good Day, love Tina x

Afternoon A horrid day here with freezing rain. P did a run to the tip first thing which always feels good. We brought over a lot of stuff not needed. Have ordered a new satellite dish from Germany again, once it is installed we can record programs again. As we are an hour ahead many things are too late for me so we always record them.m Finished the back of the jumper for grandson and getting on well with the front. Devoting evenings to knitting. Made up a batch of dog food to ring the changes. My dogs really like variety. Keep thinking about getting on with sewing but not pushing myself as so much else to do. Hope things calm down soon Iris . Tina hope you feel better soon. Keep to a light diet but be sure to eat enough . Val I am speechless at the way your sil has been treated. It is appalling. You could be done for treating an animal that way. Can the family put in a formal, complaint?

Afternoon ladies. We are lucky here to have a dry day in that it is not raining but we had torrential rain overnight - just when the ground was beginning to dry a little. I was given a little helebore before lockdown and have had to leave it in its pot. I've sheltered it in the greenhouse but it really needs to go into the soil. Another washload out on the line to blow but not sure it will dry as there is too much humidity in the air.
Have hoovered all through the house and given the bathroom a good clean. Will iron yesterday's laundry next. We just had some ham with grated carrot, lettuce and Waldorf salad for lunch followed by a slice of fruit loaf. Have run out of other salad stuff but it made a change from soup. Tonight it's oven cooked fish and chips and individual cheescakes with forest fruit topping. So easy to make these - just crushed digestive biscuits in the base of a small glass, top with low fat soft cheese and fruit compote spooned over.
So sorry to hear about your SiL, Val. How much more pain must she endure? Was she at home when she fell from the stairlift?
Think we could call ourselves a sorority, Tina (a band of sisters!). Good to know we keep you entertained. Hope your tummy is starting to settle down. Like Aly said, please ensure you eat enough to keep your strength up and also keep well hydrated. I've persuaded OH to drink mint tea or ginger and lemon tea between his regular decaf tea as he's not keen on cold drinks during the cold weather. Both are good for the digestion as well as counting towards his fluid intake and cutting down on his consumption of his beloved cuppa. He was able to walk to the shop with me this morning to collect the paper because it wasn't raining. He walks so slowly now that we would both have been drowned by the time we got home otherwise.
Well must get on with the chores. Enjoy the rest of your day.

Turned into a very nice Day, with plenty of Sunshine, if a bit windy. Sil, came up and changed my Bed, hoovered, then went for Groceries. He said, everyone was complaining, as they would only let One Person in , from each Family. However, now have something I fancy for my Dinner, Scampi, and a Green Salad. Put my Sweet Peas in to soak, one packet of Mixed Colours, and One of Purple. Not long before I can get some more in, have no Chillis, but will send for them asap. today!Going to look at Greenhouses, not made my Mind up as to what type to have a small One, or a next to Shed, one

Morning Washing pegged out and no rain. Have someone coming shortly to possibly buy my mini. Cats have been out. By the way I have four. Suki a snowy Bengal who came with us from the UK along with Lola a brown spotted Bengal. Then there is Humbug a French cat I adopted as a sick kitten. Her markings are just like a Humbug hence her name. Then lastly Betty another adopted French cat whose owner died and the family turned out. Betty came as an adult cat but settled in well and is very cuddly. The empty house opposite has two, mousers , one completely Black I have dubbed Sooty and one completely white I call Snowy. They are both very affectionate . Animals seem to find me. Going to have a cuppa with friends locally this afternoon. Had a zoom call with my best friend in the UK this morning which was lovely. Had a look at my unfinished sewing projects that I will tackle soon. Need an empty day really. Meanwhile am getting on with the knitting. Typical slow Sunday the sort I love.
